Though I only visited this facility with my mom because she was seeing a friend who was living here, my mother was also actively seeking an assisted living center so we'd spent quite a few months visiting many places across Mesa and the outlying towns and cities.
My mother's friend, a retired nurse like her, said she enjoyed it there but was paying out of pocket because they did not take her medicaid/medicare into consideration.
This seemed hard to believe as most assisted living facilities, I always thought anyway, instantly relied on this type of income especially for the elderly.
The home is located in a pretty quiet and peaceful cul-de-sac which we both liked as there wouldn't be so much traffic passing back and forth.
Another aspect that was pretty unique was the facility only holds six residents, some of these being short-term care, say after a major surgery or illness. In one way, it's good because of the few residents, in another, the in and out and new people.
My mom is a very sociable, active person. She does worry about needing help with some of her basic daily needs, but for the most part, wants to still feel completely independent so far as having her own space, her own privacy and coming and going as she pleases. She's been this way her entire life and so I know, our research with assisted living facilities has been a long, arduous process for the both of us.
I did like how all the rooms came furnished with ready cable and internet. A lot of places you have to pay for that yourself or set it up first. The covered patio's were nice too.
My mother enjoyed visiting her old friend but she said she'd rather keep looking around.
