When we got to Arbor Rose Senior Care, there was a big sign that says "Sales this way." We walked in there. The first thing we saw was a high desk/counter with a lady staying behind it. Then off to the side when you went further in, there was a big black iron bar gate. The first thing I thought of was jail, because it looked like one. It was the first impression I got.
The lady behind the desk was OK. She wasn't rude or anything. She just appeared to be too busy. There were two places to sit up front, and that was it. We had to stand there and wait probably 15 minutes for the salesperson to come get us. We didn't get a brochure. We didn't tour the whole grounds. We went and saw one room. We didn't see any activity rooms. She gave us her business card and some stuff about VA, and that was it. We kind of felt like we were in their way. It seemed like the level of care that they mostly did was for people that needed a lot more care than what we were looking for as well.
They had their apartments setup like cottages where you go in and there's a little kitchen area, a little living room area, and then all those bedrooms. There was another building that was set up the same way and another. I liked the outside. It was kind of a cool concept. They had natural grass, trees, and sidewalk paths that kind of made in a circle between all the buildings. The inside of the buildings that the residents lived in and the little cottages were very dark to me. Nothing spectacular, but it was nice. It just needs some work.

Arbor Rose would have been a nice place, but the bedroom was very small. I didn't like it. The girl who interviewed us and told me about it was extremely nice and very helpful, but it didn't quite do it for me. For me, the room was inadequate. Well, this just wasn't for me. I got the impression that my needs were far less than lots of people there. I would give it a 5 though because the look was wonderful and because the girl who interviewed us and told us about it was excellent. That's what did it. They had cottages. There were maybe seven or eight people in each cottage. There was a kitchen in each; it was very nice. The building and the way it looked was beautiful. They had many plants, bushes, trees, and flowers. I was very taken with the appearance.

My dad moved into Arbor Rose Senior Care. I think they're doing really well, and they try to accommodate my dad's needs. I feel that they have a good management staff that work with you. They offer a nice, quiet, and home-like environment. They offer stuff to keep them entertained.

Arbor Rose is very nice. There is a separate cottage for the Alzheimer's patients; there's a lot of activities there. They have a big movie room where they watch movies if they want to. The residents all eat together. The room that I saw was very nice. It was all painted beautifully. I would recommend this place. However, when someone decides to take a room, you have to furnish all the furniture. I'm alone, so I didn't know how to get my furniture there.

WHAT A JOY TO FIND! I have recently been on a search for my Aunt. I have been touring multiple communities and weaving through the differences and price structures. What a relief it was to find Arbor Rose! The pricing is all-inclusive so there are no hidden costs for families to worry about. The Cottages and Suites are very well maintained and spacious. The staff have gone out of their way to make this move easy on us. I know I made the right choice for her. Thank you.

Arbor Rose has senior day care. It’s like six homes built around the courtyard, and it's a very nice situation. My mom is there. The accommodation is like a house with a kitchen, living room and a TV room within the home. The staff seemed to be wonderful, happy and long-term so they have very little turnover. They know everyone by name.

We took a tour at Arbor Rose. They have five to six different buildings which were really nice. It was a nice and clean place. It was also homey. The people there were friendly and nice. Overall, it was the nicest place I visited.

I like the way Arbor Rose is set up based on my mom's situation. The staff keeps in touch with me on an ongoing basis as we're trying to work through my mom's meds. If something happens, they're pretty good about giving me a call and a heads up. Mom appears to be very well-kept. The staff dresses her up every day. The facility also appears to be clean and doesn't smell. The residents have music, plays, arts, and field trips as activities. It has been a positive experience.

On more than one visit to Arbor Rose I have been able to freely come and go through outside gates that, according to the signs posted on the latch, were to be locked. Inside the lobby there is a rather oppressive gate separating the front desk from the rest of the community. I have not been given a tour during my visits so I am unable to speak about the care or programming but that gate..... It's demeaning. I can only guess why it's there but surely there are better ways to restrict the residents from the front desk or the front door.

My mother wanted to visit this facility because a friend of hers had shown her a brochure. I don't even like to call it a facility because Arbor Rose is actually country-style homes.
My mother and I toured both the private and semi-private rooms. We both liked the private rooms because it felt more like an apartment or ""place of her own"".
The staff was very friendly, greeted us and one nurse even stood telling jokes with my mom. My mother is a retired nurse and so they got to talking about that.
There is a recreational room which at Arbor Rose is called a Great Room. Tons of seating, big comfortable chairs, a pool table, television, games and books. About 5 residents were occupying the room when we toured but there was still plenty of room for more.
I really liked how right away several of the women sitting in the great room said hello to my mom.
My mother was happy to see that they even had a salon.
The outside was nice too, a lot of full grown trees and flowers.
My mother ended up not staying at this particular home but sometimes she'll still say to me: remember that really nice place we saw in Mesa?
I always know she's talking about Arbor Rose.
