About This Community

We are a Memory Care Assisted Living Facility that specializes in the unique needs of senior adults with Alzheimer’s and/or other dementia-related disorders. We are located in a beautiful, quiet, rural setting and we provide care in our two adjacent communities that are each home to 16 residents. When considering the special needs of a loved one, it is important to seek an Assisted Living Facility that maintains full compliance with the standards established by the Alabama Department of Public Health. I visited my mother's best friend in Green Oaks Inn, and she is very happy there. We sat in an area, we didn't actually go in and tour the whole place, but we were able to see when the shift changes, the employees coming in and out. They were just extremely friendly. One lady on her way out brought the four of us ice cream. Our friend has told us that she really enjoys the food there, and she is very well taken care of. The setting is in the middle of the woods; it's a lovely place. I was able to see a lot of the outdoor parts of the area, and a portion of an interior room. It was very neat, nothing out of order, and nothing dirty. I think it would be a good value. That's the high number for us, but for what they get and receive, I can appreciate all that is involved, because I've been helping to take care of my dad for about four years.

As soon as meet with the staff we could see they cared for the people there. They took us around the facility and showed us everything. Dealing with the government while trying to get your loved one the help they need is a daunting task. Teresa and Anita gave us valuable information to help us.

This is a very caring facility with a homelike atmosphere. My sister is there and we are so please with her care. She has Alzheimers and a colostomy bag which the nurse there takes care of. They do her clothes for her, help her shower and help dress her every morning. They have plenty of trained staff including a nurse. It is in a country setting and the vacility itself that looks like a large vacation lodge. The fee there is more reasonable than other assisted living homes in this area. It is not as grand looking as some, but is a homey place with a porch and lots of rocking chairs and a swing. They exercise daily and play games. The lady who help them with the activities has worked there over 25 years and has a vibrant personality which is good for the residents. There is usually a waiting list.

My father has been at Green Oaks Inn for over 2 years. The staff provide exemplary care consistently. The family is kept informed at all times as issues arise. Dad is continually "pushed" when he does not want to do what is in his best interest, like get out of bed, exercise or eat. The staff love their job and it is apparent in their interactions with the patients. We are fortunate to have Dad at Green Oaks.
