Wesley Gardens was extremely well cared for. The staff was very knowledgeable and appeared very qualified to be in their different positions. They had a great activities person, they had good food, and they had access to outside seating for people to walk outside around back if they were safe to do that. The little bit of food that I had was good. The assisted living felt like they were independent because they had two rooms in some cases, and they had access to the outside. It didn't feel like they were in a nursing home.

I went to Wesley Gardens Retirement Community. It was quite adequate. We were guests for their lunch and the food was quite good. We met several employees and they were good. The staff I talked to was well-informed and courteous. The dining area was first class, they had table arrangements for four people, and the women serving the meals were professional. A resident was willing to let us look at their room. You provide your own furnishings, the room was rather small, but many of them have two rooms: a sitting room and adjacent to it a bedroom. We saw one group on a round table waiting to do some painting, they have devotional services, and music groups coming in. They also have a nursing staff. The residents we talked to were pleased with the service there. All the parts of the building I was in was excellent as far as aesthetics, it was clean, and it was easy to find your way around. It was a well-prepared and good facility. They only offer memory care and assisted living.

Everything was very nice at Wesley Gardens Retirement Center. The people were very friendly. The person who showed us around did a really good job. I loved the little patio, it's nice that they give you a place to sit out privately if you want to. I liked the whole idea. They had exercising, games, dominos, cards, and special things every week. They're just real busy. They have a bus that takes you on trips around the town and around to different places and shopping, and anything you want to do. They have three meals a day. They would transport you to the doctor or they have their own doctor there. The only thing I didn't like was they did not have a refrigerator in the room. The staff was very good and it's very clean. It's on Taylor Road and it had the newest shopping center, so you can imagine the traffic. They had a small closet for a couple to live in.

Wesley Gardens' accommodations, the staff, the service, and the cooperation of the administrators and nurses were excellent, and I was impressed. The room my brother-in-law was supposed to have was a bedroom with a bath and a living room with a covered patio, and it was excellent. They could bring furniture and make it a very nice and comfortable living arrangement. The location was excellent, and the grounds were very well-kept. Everything was spotless. I talked to the residents, and they were very happy. The place was light colored. The floors were wonderful and carpeted well. Highly recommended.

The place is outstanding. Excellent facilities, beautifully decorated, exceptionally caring staff, and it's very well run. Many activities for the regular residents and those in the outstanding Duffy Memory Facility. Wesley has armchair aerobics, bingo and other games (with outside volunteers joining staff to assist the memory impaired residents), many programs by adult and youth groups, an outstanding non-denominational Sunday morning worship service, and much more. There are some very sharp residents there. And the food is good. My wife has Alzheimer and she is in the very best place in central Alabama.

The Wesley Gardens was gorgeous inside. It was beautiful and very strait-laced. It almost felt like you're in a funeral home, but it's gorgeous inside. Everybody is tiptoeing around like you're in a funeral home. If you had someone who is very ill that needed to be in a place that's not a nursing home, needed a lot of dependent care, and you wanted him to be in a really beautiful place, I would say Wesley Gardens. That would be the place to be. The apartments are just incredible, but it's like being in a funeral home and I just couldn't do that to somebody.
It's a Methodist facility. They have a beautiful chapel in there, and they have church service right there on Sundays and Wednedays and all kinds of Methodist activities for them. But it's so quiet, and it's like you have to tiptoe around, and all the doors are closed.

Wesley Gardens is luxuriously appointed. It is a very high-end facility in terms of the décor and the appointments in the facility. I met with Sarah, and she was phenomenal. She was very helpful and very gracious. She spent a great deal of time with us. We had no appointment then, but even with other appointments, Sarah was just very hospitable and very helpful. She answered a lot of questions for us and gave us a lot of good information.
The rooms were average size. They were barely comparable to the other facility in size. However, they were very accommodating to the guest's wishes in customizing the rooms. Some of the residents brought in beautiful antiques and paintings. They're just very homey and personalized for the residents.

I know three persons who lives at Wesley Manor and I have a friend who does volunteer work there. The director is top notch and the food there is delicious. Wesley Gardens picks up in an automobile one of my friends at her hair stylist every other week. Wesley Gardens is across the street from Baptist East Medical Center and also across the street from numerous doctors offices.
