Dad is in the Presbyterian Apartments in completely independent living. He has made quite a few friends, and his health has improved immensely. He wants to live there as long as he can. They have a Bible study every day at 4:00 that he has initiated with a group of five or six people that attend. He has a one-bedroom apartment, which has a small kitchenette, a living room, and a pretty-good-sized storage room. There are 12 floors in the building. They do not supply food or care since it's completely independent. You have to sign in when you get there and sign out when you leave, but Dad comes and goes as he pleases without signing in or signing out. They have an entertainment room and have various people that visit, like different preachers who come in every Saturday night and have church service. They also have musicians come in and play. They're all volunteers.

Presbyterian has a lot going on for their seniors, and there’s always something going on. There’s a gentleman that I help who lives there and had an incident. He still can take care himself, but I drive him around.
They have religious meetings for those who want that, and they have people who come in like band singing. They have activities like exercise, and people come in and give them entertainment with music. Their people are aware of what’s going on, and they make sure that they get to attend those functions.
I really like the staff; they’re very friendly. I am over there a lot taking care of the gentleman but they know me as well as the resident. The residents will come in the laundry room and say good morning, and I really like that.

November 2014 - These apartments are not what they are advertised to be! What a disappointment. The facility itself needs a facelift; the apartments are outdated and not at all like the photo displayed on the internet site.

The Presbyterian Apartments were a perfect example of how an assisted living complex should be ran. They had activities for the residents, good faculty, and plenty of light and space. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a place to live who is elderly. The people were friendly and I never once heard a complaint about anyone there. They have a spacious courtyard and plenty of rooms. There is a very nice common area, an auditorium, and a library with a trade section for active readers. Three working elevators help residents move from place to place. Also a terrific garden and outdoor view. Convenience to the city and shops as well. Many residents are active and can get around, others are bedridden. There are on call staff to address these issues. They also have a transportation bus to drive members to the store. Each apartment is studio style and very spacious
