The staff at Holiday Rocky Ridge was very, very friendly, and very helpful. The people who lived there were very friendly, too. We ate there and the food was good. They gave us a list of activities they do and they have quite a bit of things going on there. The rooms were just a little bit smaller.

We chose Holiday Rocky Ridge for my in-laws. I was very impressed with the staff, with the apartments, and with the cleanliness of the facility. They seem to be fully staffed. They are knowledgeable and very helpful. They have an activities director on staff who schedules special events for the residents daily, weekly, and even monthly special events. Meals are included. Residents can live there independently, or you can add on whatever layer of assistance your loved ones need. They have monthly birthday parties for the residents, there is an onsite salon, and they also have exercise classes.

Holiday Rocky Ridge was a beautiful place. Our tour was wonderful. The lady who showed us around was very warm and inviting. She gave me all the information that I needed and she had a package to take home with me. She's even kept in contact with me since the visit.
The rooms were huge and spacious and it's got their own private bathrooms. The one she showed me was on the back side area and it had its own entrance, which was nice. The building itself was nice and there was a courtyard space outside.
Residents get meals and do little activities. It was a pretty good atmosphere. People seemed to be happy. There were a lot of smiling faces. So, it gave me a good vibe about that place.

Holiday Rocky Ridge was top-of-the-line. They offered everything and even more. It was a very nice and beautifully appointed facility. The director was very friendly and very nice. We even talked to some of their residents and they were all happy. Nobody had a complaint. Even though it's an independent living, if you need assistance, they have an office where they can do other things for you and you pay extra for that. Since they had a lot of extra things, the cost was much more.
They have 200 independent living places all over the United States, including Hawaii, but if you travel around and come to a city, instead of going to a hotel, you can make reservations at their guest cottage and stay there for free, including your meals. The rooms were a nice size, but the one-bedroom seemed to be a little bit smaller. They did not have full kitchens though, which was a negative for me. I understand that they're going to fix your meals, but if I'm wanting to cook vegetable soup or make a pot roast, I could only do that if I had a full kitchen.
The dining area was like a restaurant. You go in and sit down. They post the menus and their meals seemed to be very appetizing. They have an exercise room and a full array of activities going on there. They had a walking track around their whole facility with well-maintained gardens and landscapes. The lady who gave us a tour was very nice, very helpful, and very friendly. We enjoyed meeting and talking with her.

My mother-in-law moved into Rocky Ridge last November. She likes it, we like it. The staff is caring. They have three meals per day. They have activities every day of the week, they can participate in anything from physical stretching, yoga, to board games, book clubs such as that. Each senior has their own apartment, a common dining area, walking trails, community center, or activity room. The only thing they could improve on is food service. Sometimes there are not enough offerings. If somebody has a diet, they used to offer four different choices, now and on some days they only offer two. They always have a choice. So you're not forced to eat something you don't like.

Rocky Ridge was really nice. If I ever had to go to an independent living facility, I would want to go there. The lady that toured us was very, very helpful. They serve food restaurant-style and their dining room looked very lovely.

Rocky Ridge's atmosphere was great. I saw several different rooms. They have several different sizes, so it just depends on what would be best for whoever is moving in there, and what they would pick. The staff that assisted me during the tour was very sweet. The cleanliness was up to par. It's an independent living community.

Rocky Ridge was very nice. The rooms were nice. They need some updating, but everything else was nice. The outdoor appearance was very pleasant. The staff was great, and so were some of the residents that I spoke with. They're very friendly. They did not mind providing information about the facility when you ask questions. They had a duo that came in, and they were singing and stuff; that was nice.

Rocky Ridge wasn't as new as the other place. I didn't see people interacting a lot. It was bigger and crowded, and the parking lot was crowded, getting on the highway was a pain in the butt. But, overall it was nice for somebody who didn't mind that. I just saw the boy that took me on the tour. He was very knowledgeable, very nice, and answered all my questions. I had no problem with that. It's close to stores, big malls, and a hospital.

Rocky Ridge is super clean. The people there are friendly, nice, and helpful. They go above and beyond in helping us getting my cousin moved in. They are just great people. She has had a problem with her plumbing since she moved in and they had to put a new toilet in, but they're working on it to get it fixed. She seems to be happy there. It's a great place and all the residents that I met seemed very friendly, very happy, and most of them have lived there a long time.
She loves the food, and her guests go eat with her too. I've also tried their food once where I had shrimp, English peas, and a fudge brownie. There were several of us at her apartment that time, so one of the other guests ate the other part of the plate because it was just plenty. Her room is very nice, we provided her with furniture, it's a suite and it's got plenty of room. They come and clean her room once a month and change the sheets once a week.
The surroundings are clean. She has her dogs with her and she got a patio area where she can go out and take her dogs out. They have a lot of activities for the residents like they have a room for crafts, they go on trips on the bus, and entertainment comes in once a month. When you walk in there, you don't smell anything. It's just there are apartments where people smoke and sometimes outside you do smell the smoke. Not heavily, but I can tell that they do allow some residents to smoke, but the place is the best value for us.

Rocky Ridge was nice, but it was small for the money. The staff during the tour was Hunter. He knew what he was talking about. He was good in answering the questions that I presented to him. They only had one available and that was more like a studio type. It was nice and clean. He said they did have activities, and that they took them out. They had a nice area that they could go. The building was nice. They have Angels of Mercy Elder CARE there, and they are there if the person needs to be bathed and groomed. They have medication personnel, escort activities to local areas, and provide assistance with walking and assistance with shots and blood pressure.

Rocky Ridge had a lot of activities. There was a lot I liked. What I disliked was the cost, the room was smaller than where we're going. Otherwise, it was very clean and very nice. I talked to several people there and the staff was very helpful and very nice. They had amazing amenities. It was cruise ship-like because that's how they described it. They had a hair salon, a beautiful dining area, and lots of activities available.

We went to Rocky Ridge a week ago. The residents were friendly, we liked that, but we made an appointment, and when we got there nobody knew we were coming. We had lunch and my aunt said the food was horrible. The rooms are kind of small. They said they will transport you to doctor's visits and stuff like that. The facilities are clean and nice.

Everything at Rocky Ridge seems to be very clean, they were very helpful, and the whole place is fantastic. So we're feeling positive about it. They were very thorough and very clear with how things work, and they've just been wonderful so far. My sister has communicated with them from California. The staff who gave the tour, his name is Hunter, and he was fantastic. He has been very helpful and he just did a great job of laying everything out and letting us know what they're all about. We've just been very happy with everything from the start, including him. The dining room looked nice and everything was fixed neatly.

I liked the floor plan and the amenities offered by Rocky Ridge. The room was laid out nicely and they had a nice patio. The place needs updating, and they're doing that already. Hunter was friendly to us, but before we met him, we saw the receptionist and another gentleman looked kind of irritated about something that was going on with one of the residents. I thought that didn't seem to be appropriate. I'm not trying to judge them just for that because I don't know what the situation was, but we were standing there and waiting for a tour, but Hunter made that better. He couldn't have been any nicer and friendlier.

We went to Rocky Ridge, and mom really liked it. They had balconies, and she really wanted that, but she just couldn't afford it on her income. The rooms were really nice. One thing I liked is that people who come from out of town to visit can have a room where they can stay. They have a guest room like a hotel room for them to be able to stay. The staff was great, and he followed up very well with me until I basically said we can't afford it. He attended to anything that I needed. You could tell all the staff members were happy to work there. The dining was right there in front, and half of it was closed off because of COVID. It was a nice place, and I would recommend it. I would like to go there myself if I needed to be somewhere. It was very clean and very well lit. The halls were all lit like a grand atrium, which was nice. The staff was good. I didn't see everything, but I liked what I saw.

We chose Rocky Ridge for my dad because he has some independence there, they have plenty of help, and he's able to bring his dog with him. They're very courteous, pleasant, and nice. The place is clean, and I have no complaints at all. Before he moved in, they got some new flooring put in, and they did all the specifications, like which colors he wanted, or what type of flooring in the unit. The food seems likeable too, and the value is very good.

I was very impressed with Rocky Ridge in Hoover. It was a very pleasant experience. The staff were all super friendly and very engaging. The facility was quite well kept and clean, and maintenance was being done regularly. It seemed like they would be very accommodating on changes that we needed within the unit itself. I was pleased with it. One of my concerns was it seemed like there were some spaces that were a little bit longer to travel for an older resident, like to try to go down, so if you have mobility issues, it may be a little bit of a challenge. While it was very well kept, you could tell it was a little older facility. The staff seemed very pleasant. The place seemed clean, everything seemed recently painted and kept up, and there were no stains on the carpet. They all seemed pretty nice.

Rocky Ridge was really good. We had an unscheduled appointment walk-in, but they treated us very nicely, and they were able to show us around. We were impressed with the appearance of the facility altogether. The staff was excellent. We didn't have lunch, and they told us about the Covid situation and the limitations that they had. We didn't want to do lunch if they invited us anyway because of that. We weren't particularly looking for any of the amenities. My mom is very sedentary, and she doesn't get involved with a lot of activities. What I like more than anything was the townhome experience with it.

I was not crazy about Rocky Ridge. It reminded me a little more of a hospital. The apartments were really small, and the opening in the back for those I saw had nothing there; it was just shrubbery. There wasn't a space. The staff member showed me straight to the rooms and straight out. But it was very safe and smelled really clean. I just felt that the rooms need updating; they were really small and had very old carpets, old blinds, and were generally very outdated.

I toured Rocky Ridge. I was very interested in their facility, and I liked everything they had. They fit my needs, the staff seemed to be nice, the place seemed to be well organized, and it seemed to offer a lot of benefits for the person staying there. I did not see any indication I was concerned about. They gave my cousin some special attention and brought some people in for activities. Since its a smaller community, it seemed to offer special more attention than the ones that were larger and had many patients to take care of. They brought in some outside entertainment, had some people come over from churches and visit, and would play card games. It was the best one among the ones I looked at.

Rocky Ridge is considered independent living, but I like that they have an on-site homecare company that can provide specific additional services. They allow you to stay in independent living and age in place, plus you don't have to pay for a minimum number of hours (as opposed to having homecare in your home). The place itself is OK, I just didn't like that they have a smoking area. The staff members were very friendly, accommodating, and seemed to be good.

The apartments at Rocky Ridge are roomy. My friend has a studio which has a private outdoor patio, and a kitchenette with a refrigerator and cabinets. They have people who come in to entertain the residents, like musicians and dancers. My friend is still very active at 78, and he felt a little isolated because he didn’t have anybody to talk to there. They provide good food and have a chef there. The dining area has a grand piano which is very nice. It is restaurant style and they give you a choice of four entrees a day. It is an independent living place, but you could still stay if you need more care because they have home health agencies in the building, and you pay ala carte for each service that you need.

Rocky Ridge was clean and neat. The people were cordial. I talked to several of the residents there, and they seemed to be quite happy and were very friendly. They had a third party vendor that supplied step-ups and care at an increasing right. I liked that fact that it was on site 24/7. You could buy anything at a fair price and buy a la carte. I remember some ladies playing cards, and they had an activity room there. They had a chapel. They served three meals a day.

Rocky Ridge was our least favorite. It was very rigid as far as the mealtimes were concerned, which was not appealing to us because we like flexibility of mealtimes. You have to be there at a certain time to eat your meals and that was it. It was independent living, but they didn’t have kitchenettes, just a refrigerator and a microwave but no stove. There was no laundry in the room; it was in the hall. They were just very dated. I think they need to do some improvement with that as far as aesthetics were concerned. I like the fact that they had their managers live on-site, so that was a very positive thing for that community. They were there 24 hours.

I have visited Rocky Ridge and found it to be very large. When I walked in, I felt like I was in a big hotel, but it wasn’t what I was looking for. I feel like it’s so big and spread out. They were not able to provide the level of care that I needed. They were very polite and very professional but asked for a very large fee upfront in order to move the resident there.

I really liked Rocky Ridge and would probably choose it over the other place that we visited, if not for the location. It seemed like there were a lot of activities in the facility to do as well as lots of outings. The person that took me around showed me everything. The rooms were a little bigger than normal and some included an outdoor space.

Mom was at Rocky Ridge Retirement which was an independent living facility. It was clean and nice. And I also like that it was near my home. It was OK at first, but the food was horrible.

The rooms at Rocky Ridge were clean. They had good activities. They had different types of games that the residents could play and different types of entertainment coming in at different times --either on weekends or during the week. They provide free transportation -- they take residents to the doctor and back, or to buy groceries and to other stores. It was pretty good for the price. The staff seemed to be very knowledgeable.

The amenities and the staff are excellent. They have planned events every night of the week. My grandmother loves to dance and this facility hosts weekly dances. Her room is wonderful, with a nice view of the scenery from her porch and windows. If she's feeling lonely, she can simply walk into the hall and head to the dining room or the activity room and find someone to talk to or play games with. The nursing staff are attentive to her needs and I feel she's well cared for here. Everyone's been super friendly and the food is excellent.

I first visited this facility as an singer with an entertainment group from a local Church. We are always treated with much respect and even asked to join them for lunch being served. We were asked to visit for a Mardi Gras Party which my husband and I did. We sing at about 20 retirement homes a year and this is the only one which has even offered us a glass of water which I think was very classy.
We were seriously thinking of moving my mother in law from another facility but she wanted to just downsize apartments and stay where she is/
The staff members called me periodically to see if we had made a decision and when we told them of it, they were as nice as though we had told them we were taking their most expensive apartment.
I would seriously consider this as a home when my husband and I decide to give up our house
