The smell in this facility is atrocious!!! They do have private rooms and the rooms are larger than other facilities, but I just could not get past the horrible smell. Perhaps just a bad day? Not sure, but definitely not only list of preferred facilities.

I felt the at staff was caring and attentive. There was never a nurse too far away. My grandmother was a little to far gone to have an opinion about the place, but I believe she would have enjoyed it if she had the chance. The grounds are not huge, but are very well landscaped. The area is safe and quite secure. The food was not amazing, but definitely acceptable. The location is convenient to anyone in the far west end of Richmond. I believe the price was affordable to a middle class family. The staff was very caring and compassionate to us as a family undergoing loss, and I felt that though they experienced death every day, that they treated us as though we were special. I know that nobody really wants to put their relative in a nursing home, but if it comes to that, I fully recommend Beth Shalom.
