Long overdue review, but this should be said. After Hurricane Harvey blew through the city, leaving destruction in its wake, Seven Acres added to the stress and confusion of the aftermath with the following situation: This facility gave only a a few days notice to tell us to move our relative to a different nursing home, or otherwise he would have been effectively homeless. It was a no contest decision, meaning that all affected residents and their families had no chance of negotiating to stay at the facility. The meeting to notify affected residents and families happened on a Sunday, and all affected residents had to be out by the following Friday. It was an extremely unethical and irresponsible decision by the Seven Acres Board and Top Management. They shifted the blame onto the state regulatory bodies who "forced" them to make such a decision because of apparent over-crowding on the upper floor, as the first floor was damaged by the floods and needed repairs. The selection for removal was arbitrary and was not related to the behaviors or financial situations of the affected residents. Additionally, we were promised a smooth transition from Seven Acres to the new facility with all personal effects and records. intact. However, the transfer itself was a giant mess, with our relative getting dropped off at an entirely different location with someone else's belongings after we were told he would be going to the right location. They also were not able to transfer the records successfully due to faulty fax machines and actually refused to release these records until we perservered for them. We spent a whole day tracking down our relative, his belongings, and the records. The management at the top was extremely unhelpful as well, not answering our inquiries and daring to go on vacation instead of solving problems. I would beware of this facility should any natural disaster affect them again. They do not have your or your relative's best interests at heart and cannot be bothered to solve problems when they arise.

Seven Acres is a care center. My in-laws are in there now. We chose this facility because it's a completely contained facility with doctors, physical therapy, and everything. My parents-in-law don't have to leave the premises. They even have their own clothes and everything and everything is labeled with their names. The rooms are very nice. The common areas are nice. The dining room is set up for couples or singles. It's very nice. They also are serving all kosher foods. Regarding the staff, they call us all the time no matter what. If there's a problem or anything, they're always calling us.
