My dad stayed at Brookdale Willowbrook. I would rate every single thing about that place a one. It was abysmal, and my dad nearly died there. He was sent there from a hospital to get antibiotics, and they didn't give him the antibiotics until he had been there a little bit. They just ignored him. It is really hard to find, it is old, and it is not a very good area. There's only one nurse per floor, and this is an actual nursing home, and so one nurse would be rounding, and if there was an emergency or anything else, it didn't matter. They wouldn't even answer the phone for like ten to 15 minutes. I would call and my aunt would call, and nobody would answer the phone. It was absolutely abysmal. It was not a good value as far as I'm concerned. I would not recommend this place to anybody that you cared about or loved. He actually liked the food there better than where he lives. That's the one thing that's better than what he's got now. They need to improve on everything. They could fire the whole staff and hire people with compassion.

My mother was transferred here from the hospital after a major head injury from falling in September 2013. Her room was not ready for her even though they had plenty notice she was coming. No blankets available, just a scratchy bedspread. No water bottle. The aide was going to leave her bed cranked up high off the floor. The next day her oxygen level was low but it took three tries to find an oxygen converter that worked. The bed would not move back up so they had to get another one. Later she was moved to a nicer room with with private shower. We were here 3 months. Their Physical Therapy group is very good; food was decent and they did accommodate her many allergies and allowed me to bring in Gluten free food items for her. Be advised that no place is really good in all levels. Pick the most convenient place for you and be there as often as you can. I was here 12-14 hours per day.
