Villages on MacArthur offers compassionate and personal skilled nursing care and rehabilitation services to seniors in the Irving area. Our skilled nursing facility provides both short-term rehabilitation and long-term care at the highest standards. We are committed to providing individualized care of excellent quality with outstanding results.
Skilled nursing is a residential alternative to a nursing home, which provides custodial care that includes getting in and out of bed, and providing assistance with feeding, bathing and dressing. This living option differs from our other levels of care in that we provide the highest level of medical attention and care. A physician over sees the patient's care a skilled nurse is always on the premises and available 24-hours a day.
In addition to long-term skilled nursing care, we also provide short term rehabilitation care after a surgery or traumatic medical experience, such as a stroke or heart attack. Due to these medical conditions a person may need more care and attention and we can provide all of the necessary medical treatments. My friend has been in here twice in as many months. The so called care did nothing to prepare for her home going. Last time one day after testing positive for Covid they were taken home to fend for themselves. 85 yr old, to weak to get around by self and lives by themselves. No family to assist. Had no food in the house even if strong enough to fix it. Why??? Because her insurance was up. No compassion for human life, no preparation to ensure the patient was strong enough to go home not to mention they tested positive with covid.

My in-laws were in Villages on MacArthur. My in-law fell and hurt his hand, which got infected, and they didn't properly tend to it. And so he had to go back to the hospital to get some work done on it and then went back to McArthur and then got dismissed. It was understaffed and some rules were unworkable, but this is all due to COVID. The staff was courteous, but you couldn't count on them to do things that they were saying that they would do. We lost a lot of clothes in there. I never got to see the inside because they would only allow one person and we always let my wife go in, which is their daughter. And that was limited to once a week. They were pretty much in isolated prison, as far as we're concerned. And that's where they would wander around and walk into other people's rooms, and urinate in a closet of somebody else's room. So they were not well staffed, nor were they well attended. The staff would come to the door and get whatever supplies we were supposed to give to them, and that would be it. That's the only interaction that we ever had with them. We got no status reports. They're still sending us bills for things that I got zero balance on. I call them and ask them how much, and they're still coming up with charges.

Not a great place to have your elderly family members think twice before entering this facility. Staff are lazy never answer call buttons. The upper management place blame on other staff when they should be doing more. Night receptionist is rude and argumentive not pleasant at all. Food is served cold and never enough. My mom places her food order daily but gets what is left why place orders and then not have the food sad. Medication given late or we have to track them down to get it. The only time the place is ran correctly is when the State shows up to bad they arent there every day.
On a positive note the rehab staff are great and very sweet the driver pryncess is a joy if not for them i would have taken my mom somewhere else. Not a great experience.

My husband was here in December 2018. This was the worst possible place for skilled nursing. My husband never saw a doctor. He fell and hit his head. They just did xray not cat scan. He was on warfarin. All skilled nursing did was administer medicines. He did not get rehab he needed. Wash cloths and towels were poorest quality available. My husband got very ill and I had to tell doctor to take him to hospital. He died in early January. He was in hospital from December 27 to January1. We went to look at room on Dec 29. His things were being packed up by maintenance man. They claimed they were moving him to another room and did not call me. They billed medicare and private insurance for $22000 for one month. Please do not let anyone go to this place.

My 93 year old father was admitted here in December, 2017. During the fall of 2017, a new Exective Director, Jana, was appointed. In the winter of 2018, a new Director of Nursing, Yvette, was appointed. The negative reviews were posted, prior to Jana & Yvette, coming on board. There is also a weekend RN supervisor, Kim. I adore all 3 of these women. My father enjoys the food & especially the daily soups. He is comfortable in his private room & he's content playing on his computer, watching TV & reading his daily newspaper. The majority of the staff are good. I have put in my fair share of concerns & most are addressed. The key is to visit your relative often & voice concerns immediately. The employees get to know my father, myself, the rest of our family & we get to know them. Of course, there are certain nurses & CNA's, I prefer over others. Cameras can also be installed in the rooms. There is no perfect place. People are always quick to criticize & never quick to compliment. It is my joy to write a positive review, on the VOM.
find a different place or tough it out at home, its better than here

Other reviews speak for themselves, it's a bad place, overnight care is 95-98 residents to 3-4 staff, it's a big place. I met a resident at 3:30am roaming the halls asking me to help them find the door out, granted she had mental issues, but no staff paid her any attention, very sad, call lights went unanswered for 2-3 hours. Would you like your loved one sitting in their poop for that long??

Villages on MacArthur is a beautiful facility. However , this does not match the quality of care. Being a healthcare provider myself, I know it is somewhat difficult to reach the standard of care anticipated by family members. Thus a few complaints are to be expected. In most skilled nursing facilities, patients choose to compromise on the delinquencies of the nursing care and the close to inedible meals, for " therapy services" which is usually the highlight of most patients' days. Unfortunately 90 percent of the therapy staff { excluding 2 therapists: Nicki and another tall gentle man( i don't remember his name) } are lazy and will do the very minimum . They lack professionalism and exhibit pessimism towards the especially physically needy patients. There is nothing good to say about Villages on MacArthur, except the building itself is beautiful. I also assume that housekeeping is not too bad, because the place is not stinky.

The absolute worst place on earth to put a loved one! Don't let them fool you! It looks nice but the neglect of the residents is terrible. You can never get help when needed. On weekends it's as though the staff are all on vacation. The residents are pretty much there to fend for themselves. Residents are left in urine soaked clothes all day. Most of the aides are very uncaring and some are very rough in treatment of the residents. When you tell administration about a problem that complaint goes nowhere. When you report the incidents to DADS the complaints come back "unsubstantiated". I don't know who Corporate is paying off but someone is lying. When there is an incident reported to staff it's blown off and nothing ever handled. My loved one was given someone else's meds for two days for a medical condition she did not have, but that was "unsubstantiated" also. Our loved one was checked on twice daily and things still happened that put her life in danger.
I could go on and on about neglect and mishandling of residents but it does no good. My loved one is now very ill because of her neglect and will not recover. If you have a loved one and you value their life this is no place for them.

Worst Place Ever! They don't take care of the patients, you can page them but they make you wait. Doctor does no to show up at all to visit patient! Nurses shift change take about an hour longer than any other place. They are not so caring people.... I have no idea where half of these people got their degrees from?

Please don't take anyone to this facility. It is dangerous for your loved one as they are neglectful of their patients. Under their care she had a severe stroke and was left to die with no assistance; I had to physically go up there and find her with stroke level high blood pressure and the aftermath of a stroke (completely useless left side) before I could get them to transport her to a hospital and even then they did not call 911. She had items stolen from her locked closet as well as her private room. The staff were constantly found on their phones and not paying attention to the residents and that was if we could find someone at all. If you have had similar problems with this facility please make sure you report them to the dept of aging and disability.

Villages on MacArthur is nice and brand new facility. The food is hot and good. If you have a problem, they try to accommodate with different menus. One of the things that I found that was really remarkable was we have a lady whose family brought her from France, and being French she had wine with every meal. She gets a glass with every meal. The staff is helpful and accommodating.
All of the doors have alarms on them. Nobody can just walk in without setting off an alarm except from the front door; there they buzz you in. It’s all one floor. There’s a courtyard in the very center, and in fact I have found out that there are two courtyards, and you can go out there and sit. I noticed that there is a barbecue stand, so they are doing barbecues here. They have an activity every day; one that we had recently was the residents made fruit salad. The problem is they should get more CNAs.
