I visited a friend at The Lutheran Home at Topton. I was very pleased with the care and the cleanliness. It was clean, it was well taken care of, and the patients were well taken care of. It's very friendly as far as the staff is concerned. The patients weren't able to be active. The staff in charge of my friend were very kind. I felt they were there for her, and they were attentive. They have courtyards, they have a lawn, and they have a special room that you can wheel them into for privacy. If you want to have dinner with them, you could.

I visited the Lutheran Home at Topton, and it was nice, but they have a waiting list. The people were very friendly, very helpful, we got all the paperwork we needed, and it was very clean. The staff was very friendly, personable, and really cared about their patients. The rooms were like a hospital room. There were all kinds of activities for the residents.

My sister is at the Lutheran Home at Topton. It's the most spectacular care facility I have ever seen in my entire life. It's immaculate. The staff is abundant and caring. It's expensive but worth every penny. Everything about it is amazing and didn't have the slightest odor. I was just there two weeks ago. They have a five-star approval from the State of Pennsylvania. The size of the rooms is fine. They have numerous dining rooms and cafes for guests to eat. I ate in one, and the food was very good. It's fairly standard for every taste, like there was nothing really spicy or really bland; it's just right. They have activities like bingo and concerts, but nothing that she can participate in.

Grandma preferred to be at Lutheran Home at Toptom. She was there in the past for nursing care. The facility is very homey and very clean. The dining room is very nice and they also a little store inside their facility called the Front Porch and you can take the residents to have a cup of pudding and that was nice. All the staff are very friendly.

My husband's grandmother was moved into a facility close to her home around six months ago but my husband and I were unhappy with the staff at that facility. We made the decision to move her to a facility much closer to our home so that we would be able to get her better care and visit with her more often. We looked at many different homes in the area and settled on the Lutheran Home at Topton. We are very, very pleased with the decision that we made to move her there. All of the staff members from the nurses to the kitchen workers that serve meals are very kind and professional. My husband's grandmother can be a bit withdrawn, but I personally witnessed two very nice CNAs take time out of their day to speak with her and encourage her to go participate in a group craft activity with other residents. Her favorite CNA even takes her for regular walks outside to get fresh air when the weather is and takes her to an onsite library to get books because she loves reading. Her room is always spotless and her clothes are always freshly washed and put in order. I'm really health conscious and have a background in nutrition and I was quite pleased with the types of and quality of the food that was served. The meals were nutritious and well balanced. Overall, she's been there for a little over four months and so far we have nothing but great things to say. We visit her at least twice a week and are very happy with our decision to move her to the Lutheran Home at Topton.

This facility is in Topton, Pennsylvania. If you have not been to Topton, it is relatively remote and isolated. But it is a nice quiet town in farm country. The facility itself is great. It is a very clean facility with both assisted living and a nursing home area. The facility is relatively small and personal. They are very flexible about visitation and notifying families if there are problems. They have quite a few activities for residents and they the rooms are spacious and comfortable. There were some complaints about the food the facility serves, but I imagine this is not a unique complaint for these types of facilities. Overall, I would give the Topton facility and above average rating. The staff seems very knowledgeable, and I was impressed with how caring the nurses were. I also thought management did an excellent job keeping the facility clean and organized. I would recommend this facility for other families.
