My mom is at The Wesley Community. Everybody is very, very friendly. Communication is outstanding. The hallways are large. The rooms are large. It's very bright and cheerful. It's a wonderful experience. The food is very good. There's a variety of different sandwiches as options. There's everything from chili to fish. Right now, my mom is on the rehab floor. They have a beauty parlor where they can get their hair done. They have social activities. They have had a Christmas party and Christmas caroling. They offer music. In comparison to where she had been before, it's night and day.

My father ended up at The Wesley Community. It was close to home, and it had a memory care unit for dementia. The staff are very caring towards their residents. My father had two different rooms. The first one was in memory care and that was very depressing. But currently, his room where he is now is very nice. It's light, bright, and spacious. They have activities for dementia patients, but my father is not attending any of them right now because of his dementia behavior. He is an unusual case, so he is not attending any activities. I like that there's open communication between the charge nurse and the unit coordinator. However, they're very expensive when you're private pay.

My Mother went for rehab here about 1-1/2 years ago. She came home in pretty bad shape. Called her every day to hear her tell about the inattentiveness of her care. Mom has past now and death is inevitable but I truly feel she would have lived longer had she never been in the rehab here. She went in at about 102lbs and came home at 95lbs. She went in walking and came out in a wheelchair.

I was in Wesley in their rehab. It had everything. There's a lot of different buildings, and they have apartments. They go from independent living all the way through to nursing home. The whole place is beautiful. The grounds are beautiful. The buildings are lovely. The room where I was, was sort of furnished with old-fashioned seeming furniture, and some wallpaper and stuff. It was, I thought, a very attractive room with a big window. It was a double room and I didn't have a roommate a lot of the time, but it was divided in such a way that you didn't really get in each other's way. You could talk to each other if you wanted to. It was a very nice room. The people were great, but they, like every place else, are short staffed. I would have liked if they hadn't been short staffed, and I'm sure they would have liked that better, too, because they were trying hard to hire. The food was excellent 80 percent of the time, and 20 percent of the time it wasn't, but I thought they did a really good job on the food. They had a wide variety, and you had a lot of choices. It was during the time of COVID, so we were not going to the dining room. The PT people that came in were absolutely fabulous, particularly one person named Rachel. I had to really learn to walk again and everything else, and the PT people there were really good. I got a lot of PT and also OT there because I had broken my wrist just before I had my operation. I would recommend it. In the beginning, and during COVID, we couldn't have visitors, and of course that wasn't their fault. Eventually, we could, and that was very nice. There might have been one or two people that I didn't care for a whole lot, but in general they were great, very helpful, and very kind, but understaffed. I was very sick when I got there, but later I engaged a lot more, but with COVID, it's limited. If it hadn't been for COVID, they would have a lot of activities. They have dining rooms and they have something going on, I'm sure all the time, because I've read their book, but they couldn't because of COVID. When I got out they had loosened up a little. You didn't have to wear a mask when you were in your room, but you did if you went any place else. I would recommend the short-term rehab care there. It's a beautiful campus. It's just gorgeous. When my husband was going for rehab there, I would go and drive him. I'd go walk around, and it had flowers, gardens, trees, and walks. It's a nice place. Their rehab is good. It's all one big place with several buildings, but all I know is the Hathorn building. We were covered by insurance, but the transportation to some doctors' appointments that I went to that they arranged, we had to pay for those.

My dad was at The Wesley Community for a time before he passed away. He started off in their rehab facility. He was in the medical level, but not 24-hour care. It was good. The people on staff were generally pretty good. The cleanliness of the facility wasn't up to par all the time, and my dad wasn't a big fan of their food. I think there were nurses who were outstanding and some nurses who were just there. The living atmosphere was pretty nice. My dad had a nice room. In New York state, we weren't allowed to visit, but they had Skype calls that you could sign up for and I thought that was very nice. They would take the laptop to him and he could see us and we could talk to him. There were some staff members that were really, really amazing. The staff was better than the facility. My dad complained about the food a lot. He hadn't participated in too many activities because he just wasn't really able to.

This facility is negligent. Everything from their intake process, communication, paperwork, care was all lacking and completely unacceptable. Communication was the biggest issue, we never knew what they were doing or not doing with our loved one, who was no longer able to speak. During COVID, communication is extremely important. They are more focused on "how they do things" as if medical care should be handled with a one size fits all attitude. Our experience with them from beginning to end was terrible.

In June 2016, after my mother went and for rehab for hip surgery and femur 20 days after being placed the nurses are suggesting hospice . In the nurses reports deli the remarks say “daughter is in denial of mothers prognosis”. Fortunately I was on top of my mothers care throughout the day, and every day that she was affiliated with this facility. I was proactive in her medications and care even though they fed her medications without my approval to keep her calm during her screaming episodes because she needed something. Losing almost 30 pounds in 25 days keeping a foley in causing a severe UTI, almost sepsis. The day after they suggested to put my mother in hospice I immediately requested for her to be sent over to Saratoga Hospital. In three weeks we managed to get her home have physical therapy and eventually gain weight. Today she walks without assistance and attending church seven days a week with her caregivers. Today, I get a letter owing 1200.00 for days not covered by Medicare. Upon speaking to Bobbie she was abrasive throughout the entire conversation, disrespectful, and ego driven in her quest to humiliate me on the phone. She failed to listen and cut me off as I was attempting to resolve via Moms insurance. I often wonder how many other families are treated as such. I wonder if Medicare should know of the treatment we received during my mothers stay? I wonder if they knew the details if Medicare would even pay her 20 days. One would take note to these antics as a feeling of entitlement on behalf of this rehab. Bobbaloo and the rest of the staff are NOT entitled to speak in a manner of disrespect. I sent the staff an update two months after mom was home nobody called nobody responded knew when even had the decency to apologize for the medical dysfunction that goes on with in this facility. shame on you...

My father was unlucky enough to be sent to this facility after a knee replacement for rehabilitation. For starters, it is filthy. I had to ask twice to get my father's commode cleaned and his visibly soiled sheets changed. He has issues with nausea and would dry heave all night. My mother was told that there was no RN on staff a night so they would mention it to the charge nurse in the morning. So he had to suffer.....for days because promises were made but never carried out. The food is always cold and inedible. Staff is rude. I am an RN and could not fathom treating any patient the way they treated my father. No one sked about his pain and whether or not is was under control. No DVT prophylaxis was provided even though he was not out of bed much. He wasn't eating and no one was concerned with it until it was close to discharge and he was at risk for malnutrition......then tried to push Ensure. Please do not send your loved ones there!

My mother was in Wesley. I liked that they were very caring, and the food looked very good. The rooms were OK, like hospital rooms, but you could bring your own personal belongings like a TV. They were renovating the whole building at the time. They had a lot of activities like outings, manicures, drawingclasses, birthday parties, and more

Wesley Nursing Home despite its high-minded ideals has failed to live up to some basic standards of care, cleanliness and responsiveness that friends and relatives expect for their loved ones. Indeed the institution has exhibited gross signs of deterioration in recent years such that care is increasingly haphazard and incomplete. While there are a few good nurses, many of the nursing staff are composed of per diem or other floating staff on a theoretically interchangeable basis, don't know the patients they serve and offer woefully inconsistent and untimely care to many in need of assistance. Meanwhile nursing aides, with.some exceptions, are hurried, can be dismissive if not rude to the patients, and on far too frequently an occasion disregard protocol. Nurses are reluctant to discipline or correct nursing aides. It can take over 45 minutes after a patient pressed a call button for help to arrive - an eternity when a patient is in pain, needs bathroom assistance or other immediate needs. some shifts nursing aides fail to show up for work resulting in long delays in care for residents. On the bright side there are activities for residents so inclined, transportation of residents to medical appointments, attention to seasonal holidays and mozt importantly some good employees (both nurses and aides) who makes life easier for some patients and all the difference in the. world. Management needs to spend much greater attention to spreading practices of good employees to average and sub-par employees in order to make Wesley a higher rated institution that practices it's stated ideals.

We are pleased with Wesley Health Care Center. Nothing's perfect, but we find it to be good. We feel safe, and they take them to doctor's appointments. I have tried the food. It is institution food, and dad right now is on soft food. They have an activities director, and they bring music in or play bingo and trivia. They have a social worker who I deal mostly with if I have an issue. They also have a head nurse. Doctors are on call during weekends, but there is not a doctor who stays on weekends, and that?s a little upsetting. I have not found that to be wonderful, but the nurses have been great.

I have a very close family friend at Wesley nursinghome. I would not refer anyone to this nursinghome. My friend has lost 30 pounds. When she arrived at the nursinghome they put her in a diaper. She had never wore these before. The reason they put her in diapers is because they don't have enough staff. She has waited up to 45 minutes to be put on the toliet. On some days she is left in bed at meal time because they don't have enough staff to get her up The nurses are rude and do not care. I can't under how the nystate health department can allow this.

My Dad was a resident of Weekly's Nursing Home for three months up until the time of his death. He was terminally ill. The care he was given was substandard until the last week of his life when Hospice became involved. There was total lack of communication with the Wesley House Doctors and his outside specialists as well as with his family. Wesley Nursing staff for the most part were ineffective, didn't work in a timely manner to meet my Dad's health care need and were rude to family members. The bulk of the work falls on the Personal Care Attendants who are not qualified health care professionals. The room was filthy most of the time.Meals were not quality at all. For the cost of residing at Wesley, close to $400 a day , which Medicare did not cover our family expected far better car from a organization that considers themselves a leader in the health care industry and a "best practice" facility.

My mom was in rehab at Wesley Health Care Center because she had a stroke. She was only there for a couple of weeks. They did really well with her. The nurses were so friendly and so willing to tell me how she was doing. My mom also liked it there. We thought the nurses were great and she was really showing improvement; however, she had passed away. I would still recommend this place to others.

When a first glance is taken at Wesley Health, it seems gloomy and sad, but when you actually step inside and see what it looks like from the inside it is awesome. There are so many things for the residents to do there. There are a few break rooms for the residents to play games, watch TV, and just chat it up with their friends. After talking to my nana, I realized that this place was awesome. She loved it at her assisted living apartment because of the various activities to do there. I also noticed that the staff at Wesley Health was very friendly and kind. They did not seem mad they had to help out the elderly; they actually seemed to enjoy it. This helped to make the whole atmosphere for Wesley Health a fun and exciting one, especially for the residents! Overall Wesley Health was an amazing place and I'm glad my nana has such a nice place to stay!

This facility has very caring associates. They are concerned for the patient as well as the family. They have a unique way of caring for patients with Alzheimer's disease. I would highly recommend this facility.
