My mother was a resident for rehabilitation about four years ago.
She caught Cdiff and they didn't tell us however, they removed her roommate and put her in a single room and they wouldn't tell us why, so we're pretty sure they knew she had it.
She also had a broken back really bad and they were having her do exercises that we're not recommended by her orthopedic, then blame to the hospital.
My mom would call me and tell me how she had to use the bathroom and no one was coming many times.
Unfortunately, I cannot say one good thing about this place at all!

Our aunt is currently in the nursing facility. The food is inedible - there is absolutely no care given to create diets for elderly health and nutrition and she has steadily lost weight and vigor. Rooms are not kept clean, there is always a lack of toilet paper, paper towels, and normal bathroom and hygiene items. There are no fresh pitchers of water or ice offered regularly. Ice machines that were broken in 2019 are still not functioning. Beds and plumbing need repairs or replacement. Even staff realize the many insufficiencies that patients must live with. Sadly disappointed with our aunts unhappiness here.

My friend was in rehab at Wingate at Beacon. The staff members were appreciative, very helpful, pleasant, and took good care of my friend while he was there. The food leaves a little bit to be desired, but the care was good. It was a beautiful facility. They had activities, but my friend didn't get to participate while he was there.

I would not recommend Wingate at Beacon. My Mother was a resident there for one year. The experience was horrible. My Mom developed cellulitis in both legs because of neglect. When we brought her to an emergency room, the doctor recommended that we move her out of there, which we did.

My Aunt has been here for several years. I visited with her regularly prior to COVID and I’m her Health care Proxy. She suffered a seizure during a trip out of the facility for a medical appointment. No one from the facility phoned me to tell me he was being taken to the hospital and was eventually admitted! Some unnamed nurse claims to have tried to reach me which is shameful. I found out from a unit manager 10 hours later that she was in the hospital ! I’m going to file a complaint with NYS DOH
. Also- Wingate Beacon refuses to expand their hours of visitation even though COVID positivity rate has dropped to near non-existent in recent weeks and all the residents are fully vaccinated . The visiting hours are M-F 10~5 only, making it impossible for those of us who work F/T.
The nursing high turnover rate at this facility is very concerning and alarming.

Wingate Beacon is dangerous! When my mother told me she would die if she stayed there I knew I had to move her out as soon as possible. Falls went unreported, medications changed without notification and verbal abuse that was permitted by roommate was so bad that Mom was afraid to go to her room. All of this was the straw that broke the camels back. They are in addition to filthy rooms, unchanged beds and running out of food and making residents wait until 7:30 PM when they could get them a sandwich.
This place should not be considered a safe option for anyone. Thankfully she is now in a place that takes excellent care of her and it has renewed my faith that good homes do exist.

My aunt stayed at Wingate at Beacon for rehab when she had fallen. It was not good, and it was dirty. The food was terrible, and there's not much of it. I had to keep bringing her food. My mother had been in there too, and I had to keep bringing my mother food because all they ever gave her was eggs. It's part of a chain of places, and they have a really bad reputation. They were mostly not available, and the whole place reeked of urine. She didn't have any activities. They made me come and get her because they said the state is not going to pay for this, so I had to take her home before she was ready. It has no value. I would definitely not recommend it at all.

I was disappointed with the care my mother received. She had a feaver of 104 and was sent to dialysis I stead of going to the hospital. She had 5 falls and two infections. Call the nurse for help with the call button was a 20 minutes wait. My mom experienced numerous accident because she assistance going to the bathroom. I would not recommend Wingate even to my worst enemy

My father has been at Wingate @Becon for rehabilitation. The physical/ occupational therapists have very positive attitudes. They have been working with my father to regain his strength . He is very happy with all of the staff. The nurses are caring and keep me informed of any changes. There are many scheduled activities for the residents and they all look happy and well cared for. The facility is clean and beautiful. I would recommend the facility to anyone.

Wingate at Beacon was a little better. They seemed to be short-staffed, but they are a bit more attentive and very responsive to questions. They are very helpful, and they keep you informed -- which is what I like about them. They have good facilities, they have entertainment and music, and they have a nice little library. The staff seems to be well-versed in this area.

I was extremely impressed with Wingate At Beacon. My mother-in-law was made to feel like she was in her own home, and people treated her as family. The staff was very supportive of the family and extremely dedicated to their patients. The rooms were always kept clean and the facility was well run. They had an assortment of arts and crafts, entertainment, and sing-alongs. There was ample parking for the family members. It's in a pretty isolated part of New York, but everything was maintained pretty well.

My farther was a resident here and the care was horrendous..he is in ICU now at St. Luke's dying from pneumonia. The staff at St. Luke's said he has the worst pressure sores they have ever seen. The facility is filthy and the staff are unable to handle combative residents in an appropriate manner. The level of suffering my father endured was unbelievable from a place that depleted his entire estate at a rare of $13,000 per month..don't send anyone you love here.

My uncle was at Wingate for five or six weeks. I was there every day. It worked out really well for him. The staff was great, the therapists were really good, and the place was very clean. It's a new and gorgeous facility. On Christmas Eve, we brought food and they gave us a private dining room for two hours. They have a concierge there who does anything you want. The nurses and the aides are very quick to respond.
Unfortunately, my uncle was really sick and he never got downstairs among the other residents. He was just there to have physical therapy. He liked the therapists a lot. I also noticed that every day there's a lot of things going on and all the patients seemed happy. There were events for a whole month. I like everything except the social worker. She kept us in the dark and I wasn't too happy with her. But that was just one person. I would definitely recommend them.

While the staff at this location seemed attentive overall, this was not the case upon my grandmother's arrival to the facility. They made her feel as though she could not ring for assistance during the night, because it was a disruption for them to come help her. After a conversation with the head nurse on staff, this behavior stopped. The facility was clean though, and in fairly good condition. It is important to note though, that although the building was constructed within the past 15 years, the equippment (i.e., hospital beds, commodes, wheelchairs) looked as though it was bought in the 1970's; stained and old, clunky to use and depressing. They did offer a wide variety of events and games, and had a spacious dining area in which the residents were able to gather and socialize during mealtime. Grandma informed me that the food was not up to her standards, as she was served a bologna and cheese sandwich for dinner two evenings in a row.

I was a patient at the wingate in Beacon for almost one month and the staff and care was exceptional! I went to rehab 6 days a week and the therapists made my rehab lots of fun. The nurses and aides were professional and caring. The social workers helped to get me home and arranged for rehabilitation services in my home. The social workers have enormous patience! I can't say enough good things about my experience there, especially at a time in my life when I needed a lot of help.
