I visited The Bethany, and I will not recommend it at all. My mother has Alzheimer’s so I went to the second floor Alzheimer’s unit. The elevator can only fit one wheelchair. It smelled of urine too. It was very dark, I did not like it at all. I did not like the rooms; the rooms were cold and clammy even they were painted in white. I just can’t see my mother there. I expected that if anybody still has any sense to them and they’re not to the point where they have no idea what’s going on or they have a little bit of what’s going on, it would be a horrible place. Also, the Alzheimer’s unit is on the second floor; it should never be on the second floor.

My grandmother has had two stays at Bethany Manor in the past six months. My entire family was horrified by the conditions in this facility. It is truly one of the most disappointing and depressing places to have to be! There are very understaffed and the majority of the staff they dohave are not well trained, welcoming or attentive to residents. Grandmothers, grandfathers are just plopped in wheelchairs, left alone for long periods of time. The hallways are crowded at all times, creating safety hazards. The entire facility smells of urine. It is so incredibly sad to me that this is how we treat our dear elderly. The facility is also unsecured. There is no one at the door to acknowledge or screen visitors. If you can avoid this facility for your loved one you should. We tried but there were no other beds available in the county. Bethany should do all it can to correct issues immediately

In general, I felt this home was of a very good quality. Medical staff was of average caliber, and food was not bad. Facility cleanliness was good, and the staff was of a very high caliber. The staff was always so friendly and knowledgeable, helpful and informative. Events for residents were well organized and engaging, and my relatives never complained that they were not being socialized or attended to. I enjoyed attending these activities as a guest, be it wheelchair aerobics or movie nights or the performances of local bands. They also had a wonderful program where relatives of residents could come for a large Christmas dinner, where the food and atmosphere were excellent. I hope that these such events are expanded for holidays such as Easter and Thanksgiving, as I know my relatives greatly enjoyed the occasion, even if they were unaware (Alzheimer's) of the reason behind the event.

Both of my grandmothers stayed at this facility during the last years of their lives. Members of my family visited them often and we were always pleased with all aspects of their care. The facility was clean, organized and the staff was friendly and caring. There were many activities for my grandmothers to participate in and, while they were mobile, were given their freedom to leave their rooms and socialize. There were many horror stories about the staff at other nursing homes and assisted living facilities in the area so my family was very happy that we were able to get my grandmothers into this exceptional assisted living center. The staff was there to make sure that they were taken care of, that they ate their meals and took their medications. At the same time, the assisted living section did not seem like a nursing home, but more like a hotel or apartment which definitely helped to make them feel independent.
