I've been to Rockingham County Nursing Home. I was looking to place my dad there. The facility could use some updates, but they're doing that pretty steadily. The staff was good with their residents from what I was able to observe. Their independent living quarters were small, but the private ones were OK. They didn't have enough private rooms though. They were all very helpful, kind, and really nice.

My review of the Rockingham County Nursing Home (RCNH) is that this facility is one of the best nursing homes in New England, the staff there is great, they are very kind and always helping the residents and visitors, they have an auditorium with wildlife and a glass roof, the facility is 2 floors and has a sun room also. On the ground floor they have a smoking only room for smokers and a cafeteria like area where they sell food, at a discounted price for residents. My Uncle and I perform there to entertain the residents once a month with oldies but goodies music. Outdoors they have an area with benches for smokers and others as well. The parking lot is huge so there is no worry in not finding a spot. The residents are well taken care of by the staff, which are very easy to make friends with. My only complaints about the nursing home are that it does smell sometimes, and noise isn't contained very well, some of the bathrooms are very dirty and some of the food and drinks they sell can be really expensive. but these are only small flaws, I would recommend this Nursing Home to anyone looking for a nice retirement home.

The entire staff at Rockingham County Nursing Home was fantastic. They were caring and supportive of not just the resident but the family members as well. I felt that they treated my mother as their own. It didn't matter who we came in contact with, nurses, doctors, lnas to the custodial team and the dietary folks all were friendly, helpful and supportive.
The facility itself was clean, and professional. Beautiful locations throughout the building to sit with family members and the residents.

The facility is a decent place. It used to be better when it was staffed with more help. Now they do not have enough staff to make the facility feel safe to those that might be a danger to themselves or others. Those that are a fall risk are not watched carefully enough. The food lacks any nutritional value as most things are slathered in some form of gravy. The vegetables seem to be all cheap canned food with no taste. Soups are loaded with sodium.

I visited the Rockingham County Nursing home with my nephew's scout troop. The boys brought Halloween decorations that they made to put on display for the residents. The facilities were a little old and run down. The common areas were in serious need of some more comfortable furniture and a little more décor. The place seemed more utilitarian, and less like an comfortable, inviting home. Even if it was a little ugly, the nursing home was clean and not bad for the surely limited resources available. On the plus side, the staff seemed friendly and sincere. We were greeted with a smile by the woman at reception, and the staff member who escorted us around was very nice to the residents, even the ones that weren't too responsive. All and all, I don't think I would send a loved one here if I could afford better, but it surely isn't the worse possible option.
