Help the Elderly

Bed Bugs!!!! Run Run Run!!!! My Mom was getting bites on her neck, arms, back and legs for 3 weeks. I complained to the directors and staff that something was biting her. After doing my own investigating I found out there had been 2 cases of bed bugs in the facility. Her mattress was never properly inspected for bed bugs by the directors or staff. After three weeks of bites I personally checked her mattress and found bed bugs!!! Grateful to know what was biting her however very upset with the neglect we experienced from the staff and directors at the facility. Upon discovery the bed bugs I was given a roll of trash bags and a check list on what I needed to do before Arrow would come to spray for bed bugs!!! No help from St. Paul's. Two months later we are still dealing with bugs in her room. We call to complain and phone calls are not returned. St. Paul's care and concern for the elderly has gone down hill. It is not the place it used to be. Very very sad.

My grandmother had to stay at St Pauls for a short period of time. I was pleasantly surprised by this nursing home. While St Pauls was not our first choice for her to stay, I'm glad we picked this home. The nurses and faculty were professional and very accommodating. The hours were reasonable so that we had ample time to visit. My grandmother was not happy at all about having to stay in any nursing home. The staff was able to comfort her and make her feel more at home than I thought they ever could. The facilities were clean and well maintained. There were tons of activities for guests of the nursing home to take part. The only down side that we found with St Pauls was the food. The meals were a step down from hospital food. Most meals we brought something in for her to eat. Over all it was a good nursing home, not the best in the area but it was a nice place for my grandmother to stay for a few weeks.

I have a friend who lives in this facility. She is 94 years old and has her own studio apartment. There are a lot of activities for the seniors to do including concerts, bind, and more. They are active in the community by raising money and conducting fundraisers for locate churches and schools. I also delivery prescriptions to this facility. Each assisted living floor has on staff nurses, 24 hours per day. There are assisted living suites and non-assisted living suites. They also have a special region for patients with alzteimers.The women enjoy the special treatment when they have the opportunity to shop and get their hair done right on campus! The staff is very friendly, and the prices are very kind for what kind of treatment you receive. My friend has made many new friends by living here. She also gets to attend church on site, which she loves. The campus also provides busing to near by locations, such as the grocery mart, and the drug store.
