My uncle was admitted to Crystal Cove R.C. earlier this year. He had severe Down's Syndrome and Alzheimer's Disease and had recently been admitted into hospice care. He was cared for by the sweet staff for several months until he passed away yesterday. In all that time, I never once saw unclean bedding or bedclothes. He was routinely shaved. He was fed and hydrated by a gastric feeding tube which was always carefully monitored. I would like to give praise to everyone we came into contact with at Crystal Cove, but for sure Jesus (the BEST!), Ulyses & George deserve pats on the back for their consistently compassionate care of my uncle. Ana the charge nurse was always helpful with our questions, and Shannon at the front desk was always kind and cheerful as we signed in. We were notified immediately whenever contact with family was necessary due to health concerns. I am sorry that not everyone who has posted here received the kind of experience we did. My uncle deserved, and got, the best care possible as he approached the end of his life. Thank you very much, Crystal Cove!

It is not what a, facility looks like that really matters, it is the care, and the people who are taking care of patients. Staff leaving for other facilities. Parking is a challenge. Lots of 3 bedrooms and 2 bedrooms with Jack and Jill bathrooms.when it's cold no where to visit.

if I could give a zero, that's what this place would get. We brought my father there after a stroke, and they neglected to give him his blood pressure and diabetes medicines. His health dropped dramatically, going from communicative to unresponsive. He wasn't able to eat, so they literally stopped feeding him. One nurse actually said she tried to get him to eat a popsicle, but he couldn't. SO SHE GAVE UP. We had to put myddad back into the hospital. He never recovered and I blame them and their incompetence. Adding salt to the wound, they lost all if his belongings. Do not take anyone to this facility.

I was at Crystal Cove Care Center for two weeks. The staff was very nice and the physical therapy was good.

My home church visited the Crystal Cove Nursing Home for Christmas Caroling. I initially observed the cleanliness and openness of the facility. The staff appeared to be very attentive and helpful to the residents, their families, and general visitors. The assistants were quick to assemble wheelchair foot supports when transporting the residents out of their rooms to join us in the festive singing. The common cafeteria and recreation room was well maintained and provided many options for the residents and guests to be entertained. While walking throughout the halls of the facility, I found the nursing stations adequately staffed and on-call, as well as service items (e.g. laundry, food carts) properly stowed against the wall and in order. I was able to observe the conditions of some open-door occupied and unoccupied rooms to be of well comfort for the residents. Each room had ample space for residents to walk around and furnished with desks and chairs for them and guests to use. The rooms were also well lit with sunlight coming through the large windows. The residents themselves appeared to be in good health and in good spirits.

If I could give it no stars I would! Even though they slapped new paint on the walls, rolled out new carpet & added a few chandeliers this place is unorganized, unmanaged & horrible for anyone's mental health. There are literately seniors rolling around alone in their wheelchairs yelling their family names & nurses do nothing. My Mother went in for simple rehab after knee surgery, mind you she is pretty self-reliant, and they couldn't get her meds straight. That started the whole train wreck because either she was in terrible pain or so drugged up she didn't know who I was. I tried to speak to the nurse about it, I tried to speak to the managers about it, I even tried to speak to the head "minister" but it never changed until I pulled my Mother out & took care of her myself. If you love your loved one, DON'T GO HERE!
