My mother lived their two years and rent went way up during this time. I had to move her to a more affordable and caring facility. We cleaned and left her apartment cleaner then when she moved in. Property manager stated the apartment looked good and my mother would receive deposit back within two months. Now they say they had to replace all the carpet for stains they found. Its a shame this person managing the property takes advantage of the elderly in this way.

The Dimentia/Alzheimer's care unit is a joke. They are not equipped to handle Sundowning Syndrome, which affects 20% of Alzheimer's patients. If your loved one develops this and begins to wander at night, the staff is unwilling and unable to manage it. They will have you searching for a new facility immediately.

Lifestream is an old place. They have ground-floor apartments that are all connected. They also have a laundry room. I don't like my apartment because it's inconvenient and very tiny. There was not enough warm water or hot water to allow just for any shower. I can't do my laundry there. I have to do my own laundry because I couldn't afford the extra charge for them to do it. I had to push my laundry cart off an incline and down these long sidewalks in between buildings and by the time I did that and back again, I was utterly exhausted because of my condition. That is one of the reasons I left. The dining room was a low-cost restaurant. The kitchen was where they re-heated food. You might get a decent meal a week but the rest was either overheated or too hard for you to chew. I ended up having to buy my own groceries and cook my own foods. I said to them since I'm having to buy my own groceries and so forth, could that be deducted off my rent, and she said, 'no, it's part of your contract.' They didn't care, I don't feel they had much heart.
