My mother was in Fair Haven rehab and we couldn't have been happier about our experience. The check-in process, the spacious and clean accommodations, the administrative and healthcare staff, the food - all 5 star! Thank you so much for making mom feel at home, helping her recover, and providing such a high standard of care and comfort.

My Mom really had it rough during COVID with isolation which exacerbated her memory issues. It was a blessing when we were able to get her into Memory Care. The Staff is wonderful, the rooms very nice, the food excellent. activities stimulating. You always worry if you are doing the right thing with these decisions. My Mom passed away quietly there. The care by Everett and all the staff was so kind, caring, and professional. I felt my mom was safe, respected, and liked.
Rooms are roomy ,clean and everything works. Activities were stimulating and involved residents to the level of their comfort. The food was very good...I often visited at meal time as was pretty envious :-).
Staff treats the people as people and show love and respect. Moving in and out are well coordinated and staff areinvariably helpful.
Ardell is a blessing and helped me so much with all of the trauma of getting my mom in and anytime I needed her. The greatest blessing of Fair Haven was my Mom's last words to me. She would have periods of coherence and in the last visit before she passed, she said; "I love this place, it so nice and everyone is so friendly." That blessed assurance was the last gift she gave me and the wonderful folks at Fair Haven made it happen.

Fair Haven Retirement Center has been treating my mom very well. She is there for rehab and they're very attentive to her. They have exercise activities, a hairdresser, and laundry services. They have a screened-in porch that they eat out on sometimes, too.

My mom is at Fair Haven Retirement Center. The community has been around since the 1960s, but it just recently had its renovations and additions in the past two years. They have independent, assisted, memory care and long-term skilled nursing care. The rooms in the new section that are private are nice, huge, have a nice paint, and comes with pictures, a bed, and a chair. The people I've only been dealing with are essentially pleasant and very helpful individuals. They will actually answer the telephone and they will call you with an update on the residents' status. The facility is very nice too. It's very expensive, but it's probably one of the five places where you can take someone for skilled nursing in Birmingham.

When I first saw the beautiful facade of Fairhaven, I was excited to consider the facility for my mother’s care after a stroke left her with limited abilities. But that facade is precisely that: a facade, and I wish I had known sooner.
Staff: The staff at Fairhaven is unbelievably cruel. There are certainly some exceptions to this; with several very friendly and competent nurses and physical therapists. Some or the nurses and nursing assistants, however, are so terrible that it outweighs the competency of the others. My mother was treated very badly by several staff members at this facility. The nursing assistants were physically rough with her, dropping her hard and jerking her around, resulting in two injuries. In addition, they were very rude to her, as well as our family, using a nasty tone and attitude and talking down to us.
The overseeing nursing staff have a very lackadaisical attitude about everything. Any complaint about my mothers health was brushed off with “Well, it’s to be expected, she had a stroke.” However, when she was taken to the ER she was admitted to the hospital for weeks with physical problems, as well as injuries, that Fairhaven overlooked.
Food: Excellent, my mother was very satisfied with the quality of the food.
Overall: I wouldn’t recommend Fairhaven to anyone. Don’t let the new renovation fool you.

Staff in the rehab facility are inattentive to patients and focused on chit-chatting with each other. They do not respond to direct requests. Management is either non-existent or never present. The directors phone goes straight to voice mail and says the mailbox is full and cannot accept any messages - that's a strong indicator of lack of caring when the director is inaccessible and does retrieve voice messages. This is a shame, because overall Fairhaven has a good reputation. Fix the rehab facility though. Please.

I visited a relative in the rehab section. The staff were unattentive. Took 10 minutes to answer the call button and they were all just sitting in the living area talking. We asked for a qtip and the lady I could tell was going to ignore the request. And she did.

My mother has been in Fair Haven Retirement Community for a couple of weeks now. They have a lot of musical groups that come in for concerts and visiting pets. They have chair exercises, which my mom really likes, and play bingo.

The staff at Fair Haven was very good, and they really impressed me. The rooms were of average size and were very nice. The dining room was large, and the food was good.

The room at Fair Haven compared to what she has now is a bigger room. It was just one room with bathroom. They served all the meals in the dining room, and it was fine. The sanitation was adequate. It was a larger facility, and the people were friendly and nice. They do have schedule of activities.

Recently, due to dementia, my mother moved into the specialty care unit. From day one the staff has worked effortlessly to make my mother feel at home. They have spent time with her, loved her, nurtured her, and focused on her happiness by giving her attention, love, and support. The result has been fabulous. She has thrived on the structured environment that offers consistent routines and engaging daily activities that so many like her desire and need. The low turn-over staff means that they have gotten to know my Mom and how to help her with just the help she needs. They are warm, friendly, and respectful. When I visit, I am greeted by name and always with a smile. In addition, the deliciously prepared meals keep her satisfied because the food is always high quality, well prepared, and nutritious. Fair Haven has met and exceeded our family’s expectations. Simply put, I would highly recommend this facility to anyone who is looking for a community that is very clean and where administrators and staff aim to please. This is a friendly and caring environment for your loved one.

Fair Haven Retirement Center was clean, and the employees seemed to be attentive to the patients. They were engaged in them instead of letting them just sit around. The part that I was at was over at the rehabilitation side, and it was fairly new. The rooms had their own covering, and some had their own furniture; they had their own bathroom with a dresser, and a TV or radio if they wanted one. I really liked this one. I saw the dining area, and it was really nice; they had really nice tables and chairs. It had a separate dining area and the patients would go in there and sit and have a snack or something. At the time I was there, the employees were preparing some games and stuffs for the residents. They had a board with the different activities that they had. I was really impressed with the cleanliness of the place and the staff being attentive to their patients, and while there wasn't enough staff, the patients didn't look like they were being ignored.

The staff is wonderful to my aunt who lives here. They are caring and Fair Haven is like its own community. The only thing that could be improved is the taste of the food served in the cafeteria. Other than that, this place is great! They also have a nice room for rent for families to stay in when they visit. The amenities here are excellent! The nurses are kind and well attentive to resident's needs. They have a chapel for that holds church services every week for those who cannot leave. They also have a small consignment shop residents can shop in. The ladies at the front desk are darling and keep a good record of anyone who enters or exits the building. I would definitely recommend Fair Haven Methodist Home to anyone looking for an assisted living home for a loved one. I love visiting and my aunt loves living there as well.
