Artisan at Racine was kind of a smaller place, and they only had 24 residents at a time. It didn't smell like an old folks' home, for one thing, which is really cool, and it looked like it was being kept up well. They had a variety of rooms. Some were bigger and some were smaller. It had a nice ambiance and looked like a very nice, clean facility. They had a small gym setup where residents could do therapy. They could customize the gym for whatever the residents needed. It looked well-staffed, and we were impressed with it. It's a nice option or place to consider. It was one of the lower-cost facilities, which is a big deal. The rooms were clean and neat. The common areas were well-maintained. They had a secured refrigerator where residents could put their Tupperware if they wanted to bring in special stuff. The staff appeared to be right on top of things.

My mom was at Artisan Senior Living before she passed away. Her room was nice. It had enough room for a bed, a dresser, and a TV. It was just a regular bedroom size. The staff didn’t know that she had a broken hip. She sat for a day and a half before the staff noticed something was wrong with her.
