My friend moved into Charter Senior Living of Williamsburg. They were wonderful. We chose it because of the care displayed by all of the staff. They were warm and inviting. They went out of their way to help us make that transition and get information that we were having trouble getting. They brought paperwork out to my house. They went and picked up paperwork from the physician's office. They were just very, very accommodating. The room is just the right size for him. He could get all of his furniture in there. I like the staff's philosophy of how to keep the resident engaged with the rest of the residents. They paired him up with another veteran so that they would have something in common to talk about. But their philosophy is to keep them busy during the day on a regular schedule so that by the end of the evening, they're tired, they go to bed, and they go to sleep. When we were still trying to decide which facility to choose, they fed us lunch and it was lovely. It tasted good.
They have a very organized daily schedule. They have breakfast, then they do an activity, then they have a snack, and then another activity, then lunch, and then another activity. They bring in people. They go on field trips. They do crafts. They were interested in what my friend was interested in so they could try to incorporate that into their activities.
I like the way the facility was set up. The building is in a square and the courtyard is in the center of that square so that they can go out and sit in the sun but there's no chance that they're going to go anywhere. My friend's room is lovely. He looks out on the courtyard and it's on the second floor. They were right in line with everybody else as far as pricing, but they did not cover cable where others do.

We toured Charter Senior Living of Williamsburg. The tour went extremely well. It was clean and everything looked nice. They took me all over the whole place. The rooms looked like they would be fine for what I was looking for. The staff was very helpful, they answered all my questions, and they seemed very knowledgeable. They sent us a home-cooked meal, and it was delicious. The place looked great.
