I liked the friendliness, and the beauty of the grounds of Auburn Hill Senior Living. They had a lot of outdoor verandas, the deck or porch outside where you could sit. They had grilling, picnics, and stuff. It was real homey. The staff was very helpful, and very compassionate with sharing the experiences of some of the other folks that lived there. She was very knowledgeable. It was a well-kept facility. We did not eat there, but everything that we saw looked very nice. The dining area was very nice and very spacious. They had all kinds of activities. That particular day, they were having a Mardi Gras. They have a nice beauty salon, and they also offered rides to different areas on certain days, and rides to the doctor appointments on certain days. They had Bible studies. There was a lot of activity.

I toured Auburn Hill for my father. The tour was nice. The first person I met with was the activity director. She was bubbly, fun, and enthusiastic about providing entertainment and fun for the residents to be creative. I got to see the memory care, and one of the rooms. I also met with the director. She also took me downstairs where they would bring in bands for entertainment. They also have their "pub," their bar where they have mock beer or mocktails. It's a beautiful place, and the view is beautiful. I saw one room because they only had one room available. That was a companion room, so you walked into the the main room that brings you into the suite. And then you walk into the room, to the left and then to the right, and then they share a bath. What I didn't like about that is that the rooms did not have his own separate room. It's only the main room that will let you into the suite. They had other rooms at the time of my visit, like the single rooms, but all the other rooms were booked. They just showed me what was available at the time. The place was modern, light, bright, and airy. There's sunshine because there's so many windows, and you get some sunshine coming in. The memory care is upstairs. There was a terrace there that faces the waters so you can see the waters. It was beautiful. You have a water view, you can see a dock, and everything is very peaceful. They have a common area on that floor, and an activities calendar.

My dad has been in Auburn Hill Senior Living for a couple of weeks now. They are amazing. I felt very comfortable every time I went in. The facility is beautiful, and I feel that they made me and my dad feel safe. He is being taken care of. I'm in contact with them most of the time if there's any issues because my dad is in his mid to last stages of Alzheimer's. I am very pleased with the services that they offer. They have exercises and activities for my dad. The place itself is beautiful. My dad's room is very comfortable. When he first walked in, he said, "Wow, this place is really nice. Whoever's room this is, it's really nice." I had set it up before he got there. They keep it very clean. They adhere to all the protocols. I've watched them with other memory care residents, how they redirect, and they do it in a caring and professional manner (which is something that me and my mom would not). We didn't know how to care for my dad in that manner, where he can move forward with his life having Alzheimer's. They even let me know that he has a new friend, which is great. I feel like it's a better atmosphere for him, as opposed to being secluded in the house and not being able to really do things and go anywhere. The food is awesome. They have a five star chef, and my dad does not complain about that. When we first brought him there, he ate the food and he said it's so good and amazing. That won him over really quickly because he eats all the time. They have three square meals a day, and I provide him with snacks. As of right now for the first three weeks, I have no complaints at all. It's a hard decision to place my dad in a facility. They made us feel really comfortable going there and speaking to them. I didn't want him to leave the house, but they really helped us. My mom and I feel like this was the perfect place for him.
