I visited The Legacy of North Augusta. Two things stand out in my mind. One is that in the common area (and this was about mid-afternoon), there were about six residents. There was a TV on, but four of the six were sound asleep in reclining chairs. There was no activity going on. They were not interacting with each other. They were not interacting with staff. I was not impressed with that. Another thing is that during that time, the only staff member I saw was the one that was taking me on a tour. They have several floor plans, and they call them apartments. Some were as many as two bedrooms. It went down to one bedroom, then there was like a studio and then there was just one room that would hold one person and you could put a single bed in there and not a whole lot else. So they had a variety of options, and I think that's a good thing. It is the most expensive of the places that I saw. 1600 dollars more a month than the other place and that's a lot of money. And another thing that I wasn't so positive about was that the common area also served as the dining room so that the TV and the recliners and whatever activities they do and their meals are all in the same room. The staff that gave me the tour was wonderful. The floor was not recently mopped, but in terms of all the other public areas and the hallways and all that, that was very clean.
