I went to Sunrise of Springfield. The people were nice. I really like that place. It stuck with me because the staff calls every now and then, and that's good too. It's important that they follow up. I remember that the people who live there do pictures, they make paintings, and they put the paintings on the wall. I kind of like that. At Sunrise of Springfield, I thought it wasn't as light as I would like it to be, but it wasn't as dark as most. My sister went there, too, and she felt the same way. She said she didn't feel as bad when she went to the Alzheimer's facility because we would need Alzheimer's (my mom has Alzheimer's). There are a couple of places that we keep going back to, and that's one of them. The head of activities just seemed like somebody I would want to talk to every day. I felt like I could call and get answers, and I felt like the staff there was just excellent. I didn't eat the food that day; I saw what they were eating and they gave me a plate, but I was so busy talking to people there I didn’t eat anything. There were two ladies sitting on the front porch when I was there. I talked to them and asked them how they liked the place, and they gave me a review. So it was comfortable for me. The people were comfortable for me. I felt like they listened, and I felt like they cared. I keep going back to them because the price is right, and plus it is close to D.C. It's in Virginia, and we're on the other side of the bridge, so it's not too far away, and it is easy to get to. I thought it was a pretty nice location for me and for my family. It’s a comfortable place and centrally located for all of us. The rooms were very nice. Another thing I like about them is that Alzheimer's patients can mingle with the other people until a certain time, and I like that a lot. When you walk in, it is very attractive. I thought the facilities were very nice. They have a lot of activities. They had a calendar up of all their events. I know that my mom wouldn't attend all that stuff, but they did have somebody there playing a guitar and singing to the patients. I think it's nice that they bring in music, and my mom likes music.
