Commonwealth Senior Living at Cedar Manor is really beautiful. It's in a nice wooded area. It has a big lake in front of it. It looks well-kept and clean. The staff were all very, very professional and very knowledgeable. I saw the dining area, I could smell food, and it smelled really good, but I didn't physically see any. There is a game room where they could play board games or cards or things along those lines. They have a music area for them to listen to music if they want to. They have a theater area and other outside areas for them to enjoy. The staff who helped me was very knowledgeable and very caring.

I toured Commonwealth Senior Living at Cedar Manor. It was really pretty. When we walked in there, it was decorated for Christmas. It was very vibrant. The receptionist at the front door greeted us, and they had coffee and water. It was really nice.
The apartment was nice. Everything was very neat. You can tell that they put a lot of thought into how everything was specifically placed for memory care. For example, they were telling us that they make sure they can see the four corners of the room. It was really nice.
The person who was in charge of memory care gave us the tour. She was really nice. She knew a lot about senior care. She gave us a lot of tips about what we should do, even if we were going to look at another facility. She was really good.
The food was good. They grow their own vegetables, which I really like. The dining area was nice, and I like how they have a private dining area for the family as well. Every Thursday at the end of the month, they have a family social where the family gets together. They have a live band in there. They have an ice cream social, which I like. They also do Catholic mass as well. They were really good.

My mother stayed at Commonwealth Senior Living at Cedar Manor for respite care. They were helpful with her, and she had a good experience. One of the things that caused us to choose them was that they were the only ones who would accept her for short-term. The other ones wanted to keep her far longer than we were interested in. The memory care area looked nice and appeared to be clean. The amenities were fine. They took good care of her.

My husband will be moving into Commonwealth Senior Living at Cedar Manor, and it was superb. It was everything I expected. The people inside the facility, the facility itself, and the rooms I would rate a 10. The staff was great. He has a private room.
They have all kinds of activities like bingo. They have something planned every day. They have a schedule for every month they have a new thing. Next month is going to be like European or something like that. They base it on what their hobbies are as they interact with them. I don't know how to explain it. it's just that I've never seen one as nice as this one.

I didn't get an extensive tour at Commonwealth Senior Living at Cedar Manor because they were kind of busy that day. I mean, I know where the facility was, so I went and talked to them just briefly, but I had been there before to visit other people, a couple from church who have moved in there. So, I'm somewhat familiar with their facility and their set up.
It's very nice, it's pretty close, ten minutes away, and the layout is nice. It's a little bit older facility, maybe ten or fifteen years old, a little smaller. But the facility is nice and the folks on the staff that I met were very nice. I don't think there were any shared rooms. There were one-bedrooms. The folks that I visited before had a one-bedroom, with a little seating area, and a little kitchenette. They were very happy there.
I didn't take a full tour, but I was greeted by the receptionist, and I got some names and some information, and she gave me a quick rundown of things, though. But I haven't been back for the full tour. They had a lot of activities as well, group activities. There were some nice meeting areas for the family. There were different meeting areas on the ground floor that I saw. I also saw the cafeteria. It looked like a nice set up, and there was a court, and some outside areas as well where the residents could go and get some fresh air. They had a good staff and lots of activities to keep people engaged and active.

I physically visited them. It's now a Commonwealth. I like it very much, but then when I got back in touch with them the price had gone up so high that I couldn't afford them. They showed me the rooms, and yes, they're old, but they were going to do new paint and flooring and all of that. The staff seemed wonderful. I was pleased enough to go back a second time, but that's when I got the news that it would be $2,000 a month more than what we had looked at when it was considered Cedar Manor. The dining room looked more like a restaurant type. The place was old and it just needed refurbishing.
