We are excited to welcome you to Cardinal Senior Living, Bedford's premier provider of assisted living and memory care services (Dementia / Alzheimer's). Cardinal Senior Living opened in January 2017, but our traditions and memories go back long before. Formally known as Campbell's Rest Home, this property began serving the greater Bedford area over 40 years ago. Many of the prior company's residents and staff still call this home. Our mission is to enrich the lives of those we serve by promoting the highest quality of life and providing our customers with respect, dignity and love. Our unique building layout and strong staffing ratios allow us to stay in close proximity to each individual resident and affords us the opportunity to provide superior care and oversight. We are currently in the process of updating and renovating our property. These renovations include new furniture, flooring, lighting, painting, decorating- all while maintaining a sense of familiarity for those who have called this home for many years now. In addition a newly added Arial nurse call system provides our residents instant communication with staff when they need support while being independent at all other times. Access to Staff Representatives - Cardinals unique facility layout places our residents in close proximity to our staff members throughout their day; promoting frequent contact throughout their day. Dedicated Trained Staff Members - Our team cares. Some of our staff members have served this community for over 20 years- understanding what it means to be entrusted with such responsibility- we invest ourselves in each resident well-being; training ourselves so that we can provide essential functions necessary for service. Activities - Cardinal believes that being active is a vital element for quality life- committed to providing an active program that will promote social engagement among residents on a monthly basis which includes many options so that individual interests are considered as well as ongoing development. Onsite Involved Ownership - The owners live within 20 miles radius from site; ownership is involved onsite every day which means you have direct access at any time if needed or desired. Licensed Nurse Oversight - You can take comfort knowing that Cardinal has licensed nursing oversight from its Nursing Director who has hands on involvement from beginning until end; dedicated commitment towards excellent care provided within this community. Customer Service – Dedicated customer service made possible because we take pride in recognizing no request is too small or unimportant; every request gets proper attention it deserves.

My mother-in-law will be moving into Cardinal Senior Living. It seems very cheerful and professionally run. They have caring staff, it was a little lower priced than some of them that we have looked at, and it just had better accommodations. It seemed like a better fit. The manager, who is one of the co-owners, was very professional and helpful.

Cardinal Senior Living is very small. The staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable. The exterior was very well maintained. It's not extremely secluded, but it's not close to a road. There were lots of flat areas for residents to walk. They have a small beauty shop for residents. The facility is more like a house, so it has lots of small areas. Those are the two things that made us choose a different facility. It's also darker and has darker walls. It does not have many large windows, and the gathering space for residents was small with narrow hallways. For our mom, who's used to being able to be out, we just think she would not be out as much as she normally is. We felt like that would be very confining for her. Also, she kind of fit in between their two places. Her memory is not good enough really to be in assisted living because she would have what's called a wonder guard; she would have to wear that. It would automatically lock the doors that she tried to go out, so that that was not very ideal. The memory care people were much more severe and profound than she is. She is very verbal and mobile, even though what she says isn't true. She would not have anybody there to interact with. They have several very nice outdoor patios and covered porches for their assisted living people. They had a small garden that was secure for the memory care. Because mom would need the security, she really couldn't go out onto the covered patios that they had for assisted living; there would be no one to watch her. She could wander off. There just wasn't an in-between for her at Cardinal. The tour was great. They answered all of our questions. They anticipated what questions we might have, showed us things that we might need (but might not need). They showed us everything regardless, so that we would have an idea of everything that they offered. They take their residents on field trips, which is very nice.

My mother-in-law moved into Cardinal Senior Living. We're very, very pleased. They've been wonderful. The apartment is fine, and she's in a private room. So far, everything's been good. We haven't met a lot of the other staff because of COVID. They do have a little courtyard. They do the laundry, they've just been really good, I think there's a beautician, and we're just so far very pleased.

My mother is living in Cardinal Senior Living. It's very nice, they're very friendly, very clean, the food is good, and she's very happy there. They're very helpful, they have been reaching out to me a lot with this coronavirus, but they're really good and try to keep the residents happy. I received a card yesterday from mother in the mail. They had them write notes to family members that they're missing. They're really good about that. Mother was able to do some bowling and play some games before the coronavirus hit.
