About This Community

Located at the base of the East Bench of Sandy, Alta Ridge’s memory care community is a 31-bed specialty center for those with memory problems. Our home-like atmosphere fosters maximum independence while providing monitored care and security for your loved one.

Our residents enjoy a peaceful atmosphere in a safe, comfortable environment where they can remain active, pursue their interests and share the companionship of friends, families and staff members. But Alta Ridge is more than just a comfortable residential community. At the heart of our quality care is our staff of dedicated, compassionate professionals who have specialized training to meet the unique needs of our residents.

At Alta Ridge, our memory care community is designed to support seniors suffering from Alzheimer’s disease or other memory disorders. While safety and security are primary concerns, memory care plans also focus on individuals’ needs and each family’s wishes. Families, in particular, benefit greatly from Alzheimer’s support groups and similar resources.

Alta Ridge memory care provides activity programs designed for those with memory impairments. These programs help residents maintain both cognitive function and socialization while putting memory functions into a more manageable perspective. Through individual memory care, attention, a thoughtfully planned environment, and sensitivity to the needs of both patients and families, we help you relax and feel at ease with us.

My father is in Alta Ridge Memory Care. We like it. We're happy with it. We're happy with the care and the cleanliness of it. He in the memory care. They assessed his needs and how he's able to eat food. He's on a chopped diet where the food is chopped for him. They take them on bus rides. They do activities. The other day, they were cutting out hearts. They have them busy. They played games with them like with those noodles and soft balls, where they just toss it and they try and have them hit it. They're doing things with them. They're doing good with the residents they have to work with.

I like Alta Ridge Memory Care the most. I like the overall environment, from the employees to the people living there, the attention, and the price. Overall, it's nice. Everything was more than what I expected. It met and exceeded my expectations. The attention was awesome. It's a clean place, and the ambiance was nice. I saw all the residents they had and it's awesome. They're all doing well. You don't see anybody lost like what you would expect in memory care. The staff was pretty nice, informative, answered any question I had, gave me recommendations, and gave me numbers of people that work there. For example, if I need to apply for VA or any other help, they can do it for me. If I need some special care or some special needs, I can ask at any time. It's an awesome place. I saw everybody eating. Everybody took the time they needed to eat because they all have different needs. You can see the personnel helping the residents inside to eat or to move. They were also talking to them. They sat between them at the corners or on the walls, so there were no black spots and they can see what's going on. They gave me a list of the food that they make. If anyone needs a special diet, they make it. It's one of the cleanest that I saw.

I want to give a shoutout to Emily, who is one of the best CNA's there. She has given extraordinary care to my mother. She is loving, caring and very attentive. She takes a personal interest in her and sincerely cares about her and her needs. She is also very responsive to our family when we have questions and concerns. We are very appreciative. Alta Ridge Memory Care is lucky to have her on staff.

We have been so impressed with the care which has been given to my mom who is a resident there. The staff is very caring and they do everything they can to help the residents feel that this is their home away from home. They are also very good at keeping family members apprised of their loved one's situation. We highly recommend Alta Ridge Memory Care!

I went to visit my old friend, and was greeted with compassionate staff. I met with the administrator and he was very nice. My friend and I go back many years - it's nice to know she is being taken care of. The residents seem to love the building and activites. They care very much for everyone living there.

Alta Ridge Memory Care Sandy has a very nice room that we went in, but there was absolutely nobody there to help us. Then a girl finally came in and when we told her that we were scheduled for a tour, she was like a deer staring at headlights, she had no idea what's going on. She left and went back into the locked down area and came back a minute later then said "I guess I'll just take you around" she was a young girl which was around her early 20's and every time I ask her a question she'd just look at me blankly. I saw employees wandering around, and the residents were on their wheelchairs or on the floor or on chairs crying and saying "help me, help me" and nothing was happening. It was really upsetting. We walked through games just piled or thrown around, there was no order. The building was very nice but it wasn't very clean. They need to straighten up the place and pay attention to the people that are there, it was heartbreaking.
