We went to Sunrise at Holladay. When they showed us around, it was great. The overall problem was that they didn't take the insurance for the memory care. They did have the memory care facility there, but it wasn't the right kind of facility for my mom's specific needs. The person who did the tour was great. They seemed great. If I could pay out of pocket, I would have probably put her there. They were really helpful. The atmosphere seemed really nice and comfortable. We didn't get through the tour completely because that's when I found out that they didn't accept her insurance, and so without that, it was kind of a waste of time from there. They had a barbershop or a hair salon; that was nice. They switched up the activities just to get all of those people together to do different things. When I read their board, it seemed to me that they play games and things like that. It was a nice place with things to do, but it's not for us. The staff members were great.

Sunrise at Holladay had a better deal going. It was a beautiful facility. The prices were a little bit cheaper because they had rooms available, and they had incentives. Their memory care was nice. The residents looked happy, and the staff was extremely kind. I did not care for the garden area. It's on the third floor, and it's like a patio upstairs. There's some potted plants, but very little greenery.

We visited the memory care unit of Sunrise at Holladay. The woman who gave us the tour was very knowledgeable. This community was probably our second choice. The room was nice, it's just that my mom likes a lot of light, and they were not as well lit as the other facility we visited. I think they also have a microwave and a refrigerator inside the room.

My brother is at Sunrise at Holladay. Memory care was the first part he moved into, but I don't know if he's still in memory care or not. Our experience has been really good. The only problem we have is we can never get anybody to tell us anything on the phone. They're real abrupt, and when we talk to the nurses they don't easily give you any information. I don't know whether that's because they don't know who we are or what it is. When we visited, we just stayed in the lobby. We couldn't go around to the rooms or anything. He doesn't like it, but he won't like anything because that's the way he is. He's been suffering from depression. We haven't been able to go in at all. Most of the time the staff has been pretty good. The facility is really nice. They have bingo, certain games, and they take them on trips. My brother isn't into all that stuff, so he doesn't participate. They could be a little bit more cordial on the phone and have the nurses and staff be more willing to tell you how the patient is doing.
