My dad has been in Apex Oaks for two years now. They give him excellent care and they give him his dignity back. He is well taken care of, respected and treated as a human being. My dad has special medical needs, but they have gone above and beyond to try to accommodate his unique medical needs as well as his cognitive needs. He is not fearful nor combative because he feels safe there. They take excellent care of him. I can't say enough good things about them. They just changed my dad's life from what it was.
They make my dad feel important. He is in the later stages of Alzheimer's now, but he is very content and very comfortable. They use quality staff. I have never seen anything but good loving care. I have gone at lunch and dinnertime many times, and I have seen what they served my dad, and it smelled really good. The meals are very acceptable. They don't just get sandwiches, but they get hot meals.
The place is extremely clean and well kept. The activities are very good. I go in and I see all the crafts that they have made. They have quite a bit of activities. They always give them small parties and special get-together for the family.
No one wanted to take my dad on because of his medical needs. My dad doesn't have a bladder so he has a bag, and that's very difficult. However, they owned it. They had someone come in and trained them how to take care of my dad's condition. They didn't have to do that, and they didn't charge me anything extra to do that. I have been blown away by the going the extra mile. It has been amazing.
