My husband has been living in Whitley Place for about two weeks now. The people are nice. The room that he moved into had just been vacated, and they had to clean it up. I haven't had time to paint it yet, but at least they've made an effort to get it all cleaned up, enough for him to move in to. He doesn't like the food, and he doesn't eat pork. It's over the Christmas holiday, and they have no programs going for dementia care, and I haven't seen anything yet.
We saw the senior care and dementia care and I like it. It actually has individual rooms for each person. They don't make them join with multiple people. That was the main selling point, that he was not to share a room with anyone because he has dementia. The staff has been really good. They just don't have enough because it's the holidays and people are on vacation. They've gone above and beyond trying to help my husband adjust. The maintenance guy went out of his way to try to get that room ready for us. The value for the money was really good. They gave us a VA discount.

We're in the process of moving my father over to Whitley Place. They were just really helpful and they have some really good advice for him with his memory issues. I was impressed by that. I have seen the place but I haven't got him over there. I visited in person. I like the fact that it was small and there were less residents, but more people to help with the ressidents that were there. It's also close to my house and that's what I needed.
