The room that Magnolia Court Assisted Living & Memory Care showed us was very nice. We saw a private room and a shared room. The shared room was small, and it had just been redone. It was very nice and clean, but it was empty. The staff was OK. They had a base price and a level of skill price that they added to that, and I just didn't care for that.

My mom has been a resident of Magnolia Court since last year. My mom did not want to go. I live in Ohio, she's in Texas, but she's started to have some terrible dementia problems. We put her in Magnolia Court and she fought it every step of the way, and I have to say that I never believed that an assisted living facility could be so incredible. The director came to my mother's house with some other people that she knew were about my mom's age and activity level, and they actually talked to her into getting into the van and coming to live there with them. I can't say enough about that facility. They are incredible. They're really, really good. My mom is 87 and she wouldn't use her walker. She had a fall and she had to have some brain surgery. When she came out of it, her dementia was much worse. She became very aggressive and they just kept dealing with her and helping her. This was in the middle of COVID, and they were absolutely wonderful, that's all I can say. They did not have a single room in memory care, and she is very unhappy in memory care, so they took her back over to her original room in assisted living and she was much more comfortable. They've just gotten some extra sitting help because she wanders a lot at night. She was sharing a room with somebody in memory care and it had been very, very bad, but they had been really, really good dealing with it. I'm surprised they don't kick her out. What's really funny is my mom didn't want to be there, and then like about a week before she fell, she said, 'You know, I've decided I kinda like it here. I don't have to clean the house, I don't have to cook meals.' They're a beautiful facility.

My wife has been a resident of Magnolia Court for a little over a year now. The experience has been really good. The staff is very good. My wife has dementia. I have tried the food, and most of the time it's pretty good. They have outings for them, which they're very good about. They try to do everything they can to have something going on for each individual if they can or collectively. I think they did quite a good job. The staff is excellent.
