I went to River Oaks Assisted Living & Memory Care. I liked the assisted living area and didn't really care for the memory care. I thought it was just very dark in there. The folks that I met there were really very good. They're kind of locked away from the other folks, but they did say that they could intermingle sometimes depending on the person's ability who has memory care.
I felt like folks that were working there were very, very supportive, very engaged, and it seemed like they had a lot more programs. They did have a lot of the engagement. For example: if you had someone who had been a cook, they can go to and pretend like they're cooking.
It was probably my second choice. Everything was really very, very clean. We saw different areas where there were residents. There were two people in the library. They were sitting there and playing chess.
