My dad is in Brookdale Stonebridge Ranch. It's nice, it's just that my dad may need more care than what they can provide. The staff members are very sweet. The memory care and the room are great. I'm wanting him in a facility like that. I don't want him in a nursing home that was built in the 1960s and not updated. I want him in a place where the atmosphere is encouraging and bright and the people are kind. The dining area is nice. They also tend to fix the residents things that they like. We give them a list of what my dad would prefer like some of his favorite foods, and they try to cater to the residents. They have tables scattered throughout the room that have different things like activity boards and puzzles, and the caregivers spend one-on-one time with the residents, like putting a puzzle together because they are in a memory care unit. They also have bingo. They have a lot of volunteers that come in. There was an African-American that was there that sings and the voice that he had was incredible. Any of the residents in memory care, if their family happened to be there, and the volunteers there singing in the other part, which was just assisted living of the facility, you might bring your loved one to hear any volunteer that's there performing, so there's just a lot of wonderful things about Brookdale.

We toured the assisted living and memory care of Brookdale Stonebridge Ranch. The appearance of the place was great. The layout would have worked better for my in-laws. However, when we were on the tour and we went over to the memory care side, there was this girl sitting in the corner playing on her phone. As soon as she saw a tour coming through, she jumped up and pretended she was working. Since that was the side that Mom was going to be on, we felt that there were people there that didn't like to actually work and that would not be good for Mom. We immediately decided this was not the place; they had lazy people there. The dining area was fine and the place was fine. The only issue was we saw that happening and we realized that that would not be a good place for our loved one. Nevertheless, the person who assisted us was awesome. We talked to a couple of the residents and they loved it there, but they were on the assisted living side. The room was standard, which was fine. It was a nice community.
