My family and I could not be more satisfied with the care and love that our Mom received from the staff at Goodlife. Mom could be extremely difficult and the staff were firm yet loving in getting her to do things she needed to do. We are in the process of losing Mom and each staff member has come by her room to check on her, most have stayed late or come in on their day off to be here when she passes. Mackenzie the Administrator is an amazing lady, she stays with Mom, holds her hand, stays until all hours of the morning, comes in on her days off or in the middle of the night to be with us as well to comfort Mom. If we could give this place a 100 stars we would. Goodlife is not the norm when giving good care, they definitely rise too the top.

My brother and I both visited Good Life in Amarillo for our Dad. He has dementia worsened by a major stroke. We visited at separate times and were very clear about our dad and his behaviors. The stroke had caused some aggression and we told the director that on two separate occasions. She told us that the facility was equipped to handle him. We took him on a Thursday afternoon and paid $338 for the remainder of the month. Four hours later, we receive a call to come get him. I was told he went into another patient's room and hit a worker when she tried to redirect. My brother went straight to the facility to find the police had been called. The police didn't seem to know what they were doing there. My brother was told that the woman was traumatized by him going into her room. My brother asked to speak to the worker and see if she was ok. The worker said that my dad tapped her on the cheek and said "Don't tell me what to do," she stated that he did not hit her. She also stated that she didn't know what to do. It was chaos and nothing was really explained clearly to my brother when he removed my dad from the facility. I can't understand why you advertise yourself as being able to deal with dementia related behaviors and then kick someone out for dementia related behaviors. He'd only been there four hours and wasn't given a chance to acclimate to his surroundings. We ended up paying $338.00 for four hours. My dad will require 24 hour care for the rest of his life and we aren't sure his money will outlast his time here on earth. We were extremely disappointed with how this situation was handled. We will not recommend to your facility to others.

Goodlife is like a large home; it’s like being at home instead of a nursing home. The staff is very good. They have three different sizes of the rooms. They have exercises classes. They have a lady that comes in and cut their hairs. There are only 15 residents there, and I like that it has a homey feeling. My husband has only been there a few weeks, and so far they have been very helpful.
