We're thinking of moving my brother-in-law to The Ivy of McKinney. The nurse who came out and evaluated him told us that he need memory care, instead of just a nursing home environment. We looked at the memory unit and housing, and everything was real nice. They were entertaining the residents for the afternoon, and I think it was regarding Veterans Day. Everything was really nice and clean. They showed us the room and everything seemed to be fine. Everybody was real friendly and professional. We weren't there very long, but it looked like everything was really fine and nice.

My dad is at the memory care unit of The Ivy of McKinney. I like that there are med techs who assist with his medication, so there's somebody who is actually medically involved in the distribution of medicine to the residents. The facility is very nice, clean, and they have it together. They have a barber shop and a beauty salon that are in the assisted living section but are also accessible to the memory care residents. They allow pets, too. The staff and the caretakers are good. I like that they have a beverage cart that they take around for the residents. With the food itself, they are cognizant of the diabetic residents and the various types of meals they need, so I think they really pay attention to their needs.
