I visited Prosperity Pointe. I wasn't happy with it at all. It was just not homey and it was kind of dark, so I wasn't pleased with it at all. I only saw one person and that was the owner's brother. He was OK, but I wouldn't put anybody there. The unit wasn't a nice room. The furniture was kinda beaten up. I just wasn't pleased with it at all about anything. I visited the whole building. I went into a room and talked to this guy and looked around a little bit, but that's it. Their location was all right. It was in West Knoxville, which is OK. I didn't see any outdoor spaces. I mostly just talked to him about prices and things, and then that was it. I never did call them back.

My mother was lovingly cared for by the Memory Care staff. We could not have asked for better care. The rooms are very adequate for a variety of care needs. The staff worked diligently to keep her comfortable, even making custom milkshakes when she didn’t want to eat.

My dad lived in this facility for a week and a half. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of allowing Dr. Nuyen to oversee his medications. My dad has dementia and had recently begun being more agitated and aggressive. Dr. Nuyen overmedicated him so much that he became incapacitated. He was unconscious, developed aspiration pneumonia, and ended up in the hospital for two weeks. He went from being a physically strong man to being bedridden in less than two weeks. I wasn’t sure if he would survive. After five weeks of hospitalization and rehab, he recovered enough move to a different memory care home, but his experience at Prosperity Pointe caused a permanent setback. I would not recommend this facility to anyone. If you do choose to leave a loved one here, please do not allow the Nuyens to oversee the medication. You must have an outside doctor monitor it.
