About This Community

Traditions of Smyrna offers Assisted Living and Memory Care services.

Assisted Living:

Assisted living is not just providing support, it’s about empowering seniors to remain as engaged as possible in a dignified setting.

Residents benefit from a broad variety of services and amenities:

  • Prepared nutritious meals with table service in a social environment
  • Scheduled transportation to local events, errands and appointments
  • A social calendar with daily opportunities for learning, creativity, fitness, spirituality and fun
  • Weekly housekeeping and linen services or as often as needed
  • Private apartments with personal alert systems in case of emergencies
  • Discreet, personalized support with daily personal tasks
  • Medication reminders

Memory Support:

Traditions Memory Support neighborhoods are specially designed to provide care and comfort in a secure environment for those in need. Our teams are trained to respect and value each senior, recognizing their preferences and needs. Because we know memory loss affects each resident differently, we plan programs, care, and services in creative ways, tailored to each individual. We also extend our support to the families, knowing the challenges they experience. In addition, residents receive similar services and amenities as in assisted living.

Our goal is to be known as the community’s best resource for education on all things senior living. We ask potential residents numerous questions so we can truly listen to you and discover how we can provide the best solutions for your particular needs.

Signs it might be time for memory support:

  • Memory loss that impacts health, such as forgetting to eat or take medication
  • Noticeable physical changes, such as weight fluctuations
  • Neglect of personal care
  • Unnecessary purchases or hoarding
  • Lashing out at caregivers or loved ones
  • Becoming emotionally volatile and disruptive
  • Becoming disoriented or getting lost
  • Repeating stories, life events or questions

My mother-in-law moved into Traditions of Smyrna. So far, they're keeping us informed. They are great to deal with. The place is very nice and beautiful. It's very large for memory care. It's beautifully decorated and very clean. The staff is fantastic. They have everything. They have a salon. They have a lot of activities for them in the memory care, which is really nice. The staff members are very patient and dedicated. My mother-in-law is very difficult. She's having a hard time adjusting, and they've gone above and beyond. My mother-in-law says the food is good. It's expensive, but I think you get what you pay for.

My mom is in Traditions of Smyrna, and the staff is amazing to work with. They are very helpful, and they answer all my questions. The facility was immaculate compared to other facilities. They looked like prisons compared to this one. It was very clean, very open, and very refreshing. The dining area is great, it is clean, spacious, and the food is fairly good. The rooms are smaller, but apparently they're all small. I guess there's a medical reason for that. They try and keep their world confined into a smaller area so that they don't have as much to forget, and I understand that. As an apartment, I wouldn't want to live in it because it is too small, but I now understand why, so I think the rooms are appropriately sized. They have a complete monthly calendar of stuff that goes on every day. There's always some type of activity going on most of the days, either they are being read to or watching movies together.

Traditions of Smyrna has been pretty good in many respects. My brother went in two weeks before the pandemic shutdown, so we haven't been able to see him like we had planned. I would say that he is getting pretty good care. He is in the memory care unit end of it. They have a lot of problems with communicating with other staff, communicating with families and following through with return phone calls. That's been the problem that my brother and I have experienced. However, it's a lovely setting. The food seems good. My brother seems pretty happy. The staff seems very nice. It's hard for me to say what activities they have now. I was only there two weeks when he went in and the activities that I saw then were good. I don't know what they have been doing since the lockdown.
