My husband recently moved into The Village at Bellevue. We chose the facility because for one thing, it's close to where I live, and it was the least expensive. When I toured it, it was a pretty nice facility. The people there seemed very caring. We've gone there every day and I have no complaints. The staff seems really professional and extremely caring. I was there once when they were giving them a big, juicy cheeseburger, but I don't know enough about the food yet. They had activities, but they didn't highlight it like some of the other places. They did have a chart up for activities. My daughter who saw it said it looked good. The facility was clean, and it didn't smell like some nursing home smell of urine. I've been in there several times. You always expect at least an element, because sometimes especially in memory care, folks maybe wet their pants. I mean, I know the nurses can't keep up fast enough, but I haven't had that experience and I have a really sensitive nose. I have been in other places where I walked in, and I just wanted to puke. They are all so expensive. There are so many others that were going to cost me a lot more. It's not cheap but I think theirs is a tad lower.

The Village at Bellevue was an older facility, which I thought there's still a softness to it. Some of the newer ones looked so modern and hard. I like the tour guide very much. She even came a couple of days later and brought us lunch and a nurse kind of assessed my husband a little bit. I was impressed with their staff and some of those people who had been there a lot of years. It speaks well that the staff doesn't have turnover. I liked The Village at Bellevue a lot. When the staff brought lunch to us three or four days later, she brought it right from the kitchen and she said the food is prepared by a chef. They feel very lucky (none of them ever go out to eat, they always eat right there in the facility) because the food is so good. What she brought was excellent. I was pretty impressed with the common area that people could gather. There was brightness. They had a patio they could go out on with some flowers there. They had a place for the military, and that was something that my husband would certainly be impressed with. The room was fine. I think there was a walk-shower and grab bars for the toilets and plenty of space. They're redoing quite a bit there. I think some of the rooms were being redone. I liked it quite a bit. I did not see anything that put me off. I was impressed with the staff. It's kind of almost in a residential area, which is kind of nice. It's kind of setback where the houses are, but it's pleasant back in there.

We went to tour The Village at Bellevue yesterday. The tour was nice. The facility was very nice. It's a little bit out of the area that we live in, so that's the only downside. Otherwise, it was a very nice and well put-together place. The interaction with the staff was good. The lady was very professional and knew a lot. She answered all our questions, and it was a good tour. There were little apartment-like rooms, but they were nice with the little refrigerator, the private closet, and the bathroom. They had activities every day, so there was one of the good things that we like about it. They had a staff member to do the activities all day, Monday through Friday. Then they have a back up on the weekends, which was good; that was really a plus.
