I went to Morning Pointe of Brentwood last year, but I've been visiting them for years. Their memory care unit is fairly small, which makes it good. It had a lot of interesting things as you walked down the hall, like country-music memorabilia, guitars, and a piano. They have a place that some of the women visit because they have a doll bed with dolls and stuffed animals. I've seen them make floral arrangements. There is a group of people who brings flowers -- I believe they are from the fresh market -- and they deliver them once a week to Morning Pointe. They take them to the memory care unit, a group of ladies help them make flower arrangements, and then they take them and place them in different places all over Morning Pointe or take them to people that might have a birthday. There are a lot of volunteers who go there and do various things. One of my neighbors does the flower project there once a week. They focus on music. They've actually got a stage in the facility and a big activity room. The floor in one of the corners has a large piano and guitars on the wall, and they invite musical groups to play; we're one of the groups who goes once a month. I have another friend who plays the banjo and guitar, and he goes there, tells stories, and plays music. Our church has a joint partnership with them to make little bears, stuff them, and give them to children's hospitals. Another one of my friends who lives there now does a poetry club on Thursday nights. They have a wonderful dining room, a good chef, great food, and three meals a day. They're a little more open regarding COVID than some paces because they're in Williamson county. A lot of people in our church choose that place. The memory care rooms are just bedrooms and bathroom spaces. The other apartments are just like any apartments, with one or two bedrooms, a kitchen, a bath, and a living area, and you can bring your own furniture. The staff was wonderful. I know they have had a lot of turnover during COVID, because a lot of the staff were young moms and they have been educating their children, but they've had great staff the first five years of operation.

My mother-in-law is in Morning Pointe of Brentwood's Alzheimer’s unit. The staff is pretty good overall. It’s clean, but there’s a distinct smell from the front part and the back part. They have a big room where they bring in people to play instruments, show movies, and they have different events like family day where we’re invited. They have flower decorating, word games, and a large, screened-in porch. I think the food could be better.
