My mom moved into The Parker a week ago. They have a fabulous activities director, and it's made my mother's transition the best that it could have been. I've been very pleased with the nurse's care and the communication. Her room is sufficient. I like that she can control the heating. It has two nice closets. The bathroom is not too large, it's just the perfect size. It's fine. My mother has much improved with her menu. She enjoys the food much better, and it's a smaller group of people, so it's a nice dining experience. They have an activities director who's in charge of activities for the memory care unit and he does an amazing job. Mom called me the first weekend. She's now able to use her phone, and she was upset because he didn't come into work that day. I'm like, he doesn't live there. "He didn't tell me he wasn't coming in." He engages them. He's very professional. He understands dementia. His name is Jose. They have a patio and they have a center space. We were able to visit with her in this space. The grandchildren and great-grandchildren can visit with her on the patio. I sat and watched TV with her in the main visiting area. The very first weekend she was there, they had a talent show where Jose had everybody stand up, he's good at what he does, and mom stays active. I've gotten to know several of the nurses and they're doing their job, they're very competent.

We chose The Parker for my sister-in-law mainly for the cost, the cleanliness, and it was close to us. We like the way they treat her, and the staff is very helpful and caring. They've got an excellent activities person. He tries very hard, and he seems very well liked by all the people that live there. We checked with other places around, and the value for money is very good. She's sharing a room, but it's a different kind of sharing. It's like she has her own room, and there's a bathroom in between the beds. It's really a great set up.

We went to visit The Parker in Greenville. It was good, it's very nice, and everybody there was very nice. We enjoyed the visit to their memory care unit. The person who assisted us was very good and very professional. She showed us the rooms, the amenities, the cafeteria, the place where they play games, and the hair salon.

I love Brookdale Cleveland Park. It's wonderful. It's the only place that we visited that smelled nice and didn’t smell like stale urine. The facility itself is beautiful and gorgeous like a hotel. The people there care about them. They only have a 15-patient limit, so there's a lot of healthcare workers per person which I like. It's just inviting and clean. It literally is the only place that I went to that had everything that I was looking for, and the cleanliness was a big part of it for me. They offer three meals a day. They have live music every Monday and Tuesday at 5 o'clock, chair Zumba, "Be fit" where they bounce a ball around, and they take them at least once a week out to eat or to Walmart. They're constantly keeping them busy and encourage the residents to walk in the garden. They have a dining room, an actual garden where they can get down on the dirt and plant flowers, and not just walking around, and the thing I liked was they have overnight nursing care. They look in on them through the night even when they're asleep. They have arts and crafts and my mom has already painted things. She has already been there for a month. They build things, and they have something every single day, twice a day, that they do with them. The staff is very professional, and they send me pictures and videos when they take my mom out. They message me right away if they need anything. I was very impressed last week when I went in for their 14-day evaluation, and they told me that even though my mom needs the pants underwear 24 hours a day, they'd consider her not incontinent, so they dropped my bills $600 because I didn’t have to pay for the incontinence fee which I thought was really unusual. They're always available and if my mom wants to call me, they'll give her their cellphone, so it's more like their family and not their patients.
