Florence Place was very clean. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. It was a good location. The layout was good. They had the memory care towards the back and it was a secure place and it was very clean. The staff back there when I went in was actually playing games with the residents. They interacted with them.

I went to Florence Place. It was just a nice and good-looking place. The people took good care of them. They were getting into bigger groups, and there were people to take care of them. The outdoors was nice. I'm sure the people enjoyed that. I saw the apartments and a patient's room; it was nice. The staff was nice and helpful. They had everything together. I had no complaints. The rooms were nice and neat. Everything was fine. There were no appliances. They were sitting and watching TV. I saw a little courtyard outside.

We found Florence Place for my husband. He will be moving there in the next three weeks. It's very easy to access. The layout is absolutely wonderful. You can be within a short distance of the nurses station and anyone there who is maintenance and anything like that. They do have a salon for men and women. They have a library. They have an activities room. It's really nice. They take them to outside activities like plays and sometimes children's school programs and church programs. Then there are the other activities they have inside. They make crafts. They play card games, chess games, and things like that. We did talk to two of the clients there, and they were extremely pleased with the food. We saw their weekly menus. They were really good, well balanced, and great menus. They were low carb and really good. Everybody there was extremely nice and extremely welcoming. The one thing that we really liked about it was that at least three fourths of their staff had been there anywhere from 17 to 21 years. We felt like that was a great plus for us because they had to be treated well and like the facility to have stayed there that long.

I'm very pleased with Florence Place. They do at least four activities a day. They have a lady who fixes their hair every morning, and puts makeup on them. She sends us videos of what they're doing. They have entertainment and mingle with the regular people which is absolutely wonderful. The room is a little smaller than what my mom had and only has one closet, but the only time they would be in their room is to go to the bathroom. The dining is separate from the other group which is normal. They take them out to eat every other week which is just fabulous. It's also about $600 less than the place where we were and the other place was just awful and did nothing for my mom. I couldnt be happier. The place is not gorgeous or opulent, but it's nice, very clean, and impressive.
