We're leaning towards the Colonial Gardens. That's the first place we looked at. All the people that we talked to were really nice, and they took time to answer our questions. The place was really clean and upkept. The person that was showing us around, he spoke to every resident that we passed, and he called them by name. The rooms were upkept really well. Everything seemed just right. We didn't see nothing that stood out that we thought was bad. They have everything that you would need. We thought the living atmosphere was really good. It just seemed like a nice place to be.

My dad has moved into Colonial Gardens. They have nurses round the clock, and they are very professional. The place is well-lit. They have a lot of activities, which they do. They have great caregivers. It's just a wonderful environment all the way around. The staff is very caring, and they're always available. They're always watching the residents, and they're just very professional.
Everything is bright; the rooms are very large. When they say a double room, it's a double room. You can put two people in a room and have space for a wheelchair to turn around. It's wonderful, well-lit, and very nice.

When I went to Colonial Gardens the person who is in charge of admission sat down with me and explained what they do and what their philosophy of patient care is. The founder of the organization whose mother had suffered from memory care before passing had devoted his career to working with memory care patients. They gave me a tour of the place where the residents were staying. The residents were lively and engaging. They came up and engaged me in conversations. I saw their different types of rooms, the dining hall, the showers that are not in the room, and the courtyard. They also showed me the security system and how it works so that they can keep tabs on all of the residents. I was extremely impressed. The way they presented things and the way they care for the patients was just head and shoulders above the other places. The only thing that I saw that was going on as far as the activities was a sing-a-long with the residents. Other residents were sitting in the hall interacting with each other. There were a few that were just sitting fairly quietly, but the majority of them were walking around and talking with each other. Their dining area was very clean. They have an enclosed courtyard which I really like. It is actually in the center of the place. There is a door in that alcove, but the door has an alarm on it. It's not a loud alarm, but those who need to hear it can hear it immediately. They demonstrated all of these things while I was there. Residents can get outside, but they can't get out of the place. The staff is extremely knowledgeable.

My husband is in Colonial Gardens Special Care Center. We're very happy with everything. They're very caring and very friendly. We don't have any complaints. His room is a nice size, and he's in a companion suite. They have two large dining areas, and it's more like a restaurant. He seems to really like the food. It smells good, but I haven't eaten there.

The Staff was wonderful. The food looked fresh and I loved the dishes. A Staff Member named Margaret was the best! The design and furnishings are perfect. I listened to a guest play the piano and I could have listened to him for hours. I left with no worries for my friend that was temporarily there.
