My father is in Summit Place of Anderson memory care. I like that they have the fidget board and lots of stuff for them to keep their hands busy and make them think doorknobs, zippers, buttons, and typewriters. The staff has been excellent so far. It is very well laid out, it's all tiled floor, not carpet, nothing to make them trip or anything. It's got a lot of stuff for them to look at and stay occupied with their mind. It was very clean. They have a barbershop and outside areas for them to go into that are well maintained. I love it. It's a lot different than the last place he was in.

Summit Place has been pretty good. We also have hospice involved. So, my mom gets hospice care a couple of times a week, too. The place itself is clean and neat and we haven't had any problems with the people that work there or anything. They've all been really nice and willing to give information.
She has a small room, but it's all she needs. She has her lift chair and her own private bathroom. During the day, they spend time in the main room in groups. I haven't eaten there but my mother hasn't complained about it and the menu looked fine. They have a little variety and if they don't like what's on the menu, they'll cook them something special, like a BLT or something like that.
Every day they have exercise groups, crafts, and games to play. They have a salon but right now, they don't have a hairdresser because of the COVID and they didn't hire a new person. So, the staff will help with that for now. When my mom first got there, they had said that she needed memory care, but they thought she could do assisted living, and so they put her in assisted living, but she did not do well at all. It was a fiasco. The staff needs to listen to the family more and work on getting good feedback from the family. She is now in memory care though and she's doing fine already.
