Magnolia Place of Saxonburg is caring and loving to family members. we met one person, Jodie Rogers, and she was dynamic. The dining area was neat and clean, and they were getting ready to put up Easter decorations. They had the residents helping them, and they were excited to be able to help. The room we saw looked brand-new. It was clean, neat, and ready for them to move in. They have entertainment and things like that.

My mother is currently staying at Magnolia Place of Saxonburg. They called first and were able to match the price of the other facility, so she moved there. We have to call and schedule visits; they are very COVID conscious. But as long as I'm schedule ahead of time, I've always been able to visit when I wanted; I just can't go down to her room. We meet in a little room, and usually I take her out walking. Their limit is about a half hour for each visit.
It's very clean, up to date, and modern. We're really impressed with it.
They have a recreation director. I met her and she seemed really nice. I am not sure about activities because I can't go down into the unit, but I know they do things with them. They say they play games, do crafts, and listen to music.
When I did the tour they gave me the price guide, and when I priced out what their base rate was, plus what mom's level of care would be, it was more than $11,000. When they called to tell me they had a bed, I said, "That's out of her price range." So, they matched the other place, which was $4,500 a month all inclusive. So for me, the value is awesome. She got the nicer place for the price of the cheaper one.

My mother is in Magnolia Place of Saxonburg. They changed hands recently. It's nice. She started there in assisted living, but her memory started to go. She decided she had to go for a ride, so she took the director's keys and walked out the door. They got her before she went anywhere, and she's been in memory care ever since. The only thing I'm upset with them is it seems that when she was approved for VA benefits and got that checked, they raised her rate per month. We were planning to move her before that, but we're just waiting for Covid to allow us to walk into a nursing home. I don't get there very often because it is a 16-hour drive for me, so I haven't interacted with many, but I would recommend them. It's very clean and up-to-date.

My father moved into Magnolia Place of Saxonburg, and they're taking real good care of him. The staff is great, they call me everytime he has a little slide or a fall, and the doctors visit, and they do a good sort of visitation. You're on the outside, he's on the inside, so it's not a 100% lockdown. They have a door with plastic in front of it so we can talk and see each other. I don't have a clue of what he's eating, but he's eating. They have fenced-in secure areas where they can go outside when it's nice, and there's a lot of parking. The outside, it looks modern and very well kept. So far, we're pleased.

I liked it a lot. It was nice looking, and the town itself was very nice. The staff seemed like very good people. The rooms were fine, and Mom would have had a private room in memory care.
