My father is staying at Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, and so far everything is really good. He's receiving really good care, and he enjoys the staff and the other residents. They are extremely caring in the memory care unit. They treat him like their own loved one, and are very knowledgeable on everything. Unfortunately, I have not been able to see his room yet because someone had tested positive for COVID, but from what I know when we did the initial tour, it was a nice-sized room. He does have another person in the room with him, and it is very spacious. We were allowed to take some of his furniture down, so the surroundings are familiar to him. The nurses said that he is eating and he likes what they offer. The layout is really nice with two courtyards in the center so they can be outside. Then, in the memory care, it is just like a squared shape, but it allows for them to do a lot of walking around. It's also a safe and secure area. There are other parts in the facility where there's a chapel that he can go to, and activity rooms. The amount of residents they have is not overwhelming. I don't know offhand the total number, but it is not a huge facility in the memory care portion. I just think overall, it's a very welcoming atmosphere. It is an older facility, but they have maintained it very well. They do quite a bit with them to try to keep them active and participating, and they base it on each individual. Right now, they're still trying to determine the best activities for my father.

Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center seemed to be a very well set up community. They also have a very good program for the Alzheimer's patients and their staff was very friendly. We visited the separate area where the Alzheimer's patients and Dementia patients were. They had their own medical and nurses there and the rooms were very large, very clean, and very well-organized. The activity room was great and they have lots of activities going on. They do puzzles, games, and things like that pertaining to what people were capable of doing. It had a private feeling to it too like it wasn't crowded at all and seemed like all the residents there were very calm.
