My husband was recently at Providence Place in Memory Care. The care and support of my husband by the entire staff was excellent. The staff went beyond and above to ensure he was taken care of 24 hours a day. The family was supported as well and shown understanding, support and love the entire time he was there. Every question was answered and addressed no matter what time it was. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was calming and relaxing which was important to the care of my husband. No matter what he needed, it was provided. Thank you to everyone for supporting our family through our difficult time

I went to Providence Place Senior Living of Lancaster. There was very positive staff and very friendly. They were informative and honest about the pros and cons of the place. The room was fine; it had all of the basics. For each level of care, the building goes from the top floor, which is the most independent. As you take an elevator down each floor, it's more and more care; so you're in a basement level for memory care, and that felt a little depressing. If you are living in a particular area, you are restricted to the area; so the independent people, they have their own cafeteria.
It's very, very lively. You can see lots of social chatter. You can tell that the staff there are very friendly and caring about the people eating. The ones who are higher need are just sitting silently at their table, where some living places have everyone mixed together. I think it would help engage folks who still are capable of even a minimum level of engagement. They had a nice social space with a little kitchen where people meet. The laundry facilities and things were fine.
In order to get outside, there's an enclosed outdoor garden area that would be fantastic; but you have to have a key code to get outside, and you have to be supervised. So in reality for most people, it means they won't go outside. It was a positive and a negative.
The cafeteria looked clean. It was for eating. There wasn't a lot of interaction, and those are patients that won't be able to socialize in some cases. It looked like they had a nice menu of options.

My dad was a resident of Country Meadow Lancaster for almost 3 years and the care he received was excellent.
