My mother-in-law went to the memory care facility in June of 2021 and she is still their. She seems very happy their and she has many other housemates as friends. The facility is not like any other nursing home facility i have ever been in. It is very, very nice, similiar to a dorm. Each big room has its own nice bathroom. They have 2 large diningros with plenty of seating, good meals and snacks and drinks for the residents. The facility is very, very clean. All the aids n nurses and staff are very, very nice. They have a resident cat and dog. They have several nice seating rooms. It is a beautiful facility! I would recommend it to anyone.

My dad was a resident of Magnolias of Chambersburg. The personnel that worked there were very caring and concerned and kept me informed of what things were going on with my father. However, some things weren't his, clothing-wise, and things like that that would end up in the drawers in his closet. It was required to mark their names in all of their clothing, so I wasn't certain how things that were not his would end up in his room. Maybe that's just part of being in an assisted living facility where someone else does your laundry. We weren't allowed to do the laundry because of Covid. We had just been able to go into the facility to see him twice, and then he had an episode and ended up going to the hospital. So, we didn't get to have a whole lot of experience with being inside the facilities ourselves personally, but I was overall happy with the quality of staff and the care that he received. They have two different facilities. One is just regular assisted living and then one was memory care. He was on the memory care side of the assisted living. He was still able to get around on his own, like with a wheelchair. He just required assistance to get up and then someone to walk with him when he was walking with a walker; they gave that level of care. He didn't require anyone to feed him or anything like that, he could feed himself. So, assistance with bathing and things like that, he required. And they did all of that. We saw the dining area, but we weren't able to go into that area. I think under regular circumstances, you could go in and you could dine with them, but we weren't allowed to do any of that when we visited with him. We had to go straight to his little room and stay there and visit with him. And then when it was time to leave, they escorted us back out. He had a dresser that was provided and there was a bathroom attached to it that had a sink and a toilet. There was a closet, and they would have also provided a bed. We did take in a hospital bed, but they would have provided a bed. I'm not sure exactly what the dimensions were on it, but it just accommodated a twin-size bed and a dresser. We took in a reclining chair and also had a bedside nightstand. So that was pretty much all that would fit in there. They sent out a monthly calendar of the activities and it seemed like every day would have kind of a current news time where they talk about current events, but not negative ones. It wasn't politics or anything like that, just talk about some current events. They'd have singalongs, some bingo, a little trivia time, and there was even as a little dancing one time. It seemed very nice facilities, pretty well maintained. It was clean and very pleasant.
