Sweetbriar Villa was a smaller facility and had a very homey feeling to it. I went to the memory care but I saw a little bit of assisted living also because you kind of go through one to get to the other. They've taken in residents that complement each other or all the temperaments are very similar. So, it's just a pleasant and nice atmosphere. They're getting ready to remodel, changing the carpets and whatnot, but to me, everything they were replacing were still in good shape.
However, one thing I thought was a little odd, maybe not for some, was they don't have showers in the resident's bathrooms. It was kind of down the hall, like in a college dorm, but still, it was a nice and clean place. It had nice gardens and the staff seemed very nice.
The community relations provider that I toured with and I've talked to was also nice. She cares about everybody. She talks to you like she's known you and you are a friend of hers forever. The other staff we met in passing were also very pleasant. The residents that they were with said hello and talked to me as well. So, the staff and everybody seemed very nice.
