We began our quest into senior living because of our love for our beloved mother, Mary Bickford, whose needs became too great for us to manage. As we researched senior living options, we were shocked at our findings. The options offered too much or too little — none met her needs and nothing felt like home. Since we couldn't find what we wanted, we decided to create what we needed. Our main desire was to create a place that helped her achieve an equivalent peace and happiness that she had earlier in her life.
We understand that selecting a senior living community for your loved one is one of the toughest decisions that you will ever face. We will work with you to ensure that the transition is as easy and comfortable as possible. Whether your loved one is at home, in the hospital or even in another state, we can work with your hospital, insurance company, and doctor to make your difficult decision easier on you and your family. Aging can be difficult — but we've also seen the beauty in aging. Our mother's happiness inspired us. We created Bickford for her and now we're devoted to serving yours. We look forward to meeting you soon.

Bickford of Worthington was a nice facility. It was an older facility, but the people were very friendly. We are not ready to make a decision at this point yet, but we will keep them as an option. They showed us an empty room with furniture. It was very adequate. It did not have a shower in the bathroom. You have to go to a common shower outside the room. Their reason for it is that they thought sometimes the residents might try to get in the shower without any attendants helping them, and that might be a problem. They had an outside patio, and it had a security fence around it. The staff was very pleasant, knowledgeable, and did a nice job.

My friend has moved into Bickford of Worthington. I've been over there quite a bit. When you go in to talk to them, they are exceedingly helpful about letting you know about their services, what they can offer, their levels of care, and the financial end of it. They are very good about working with you on the finances, which was very important to us.
The facility so far is clean. She has a lovely room with windows. It's bright. They really worked with me as far as my knowing what she needed, and they took that to heart. They've been doing what I asked them to do for her. I even asked for something specific, like every Sunday morning that she be ready by 9:00 AM. She can't remember right now that it's Sunday and that we're going to church; and by golly, they're doing it. I find that kind of amazing to be that specific and to be that helpful with one person out of so many. I've been very impressed.
I have spoken to the activity person, and she assured me that my friend is going to activities. I had no reason to disbelieve her. Jean can't tell me whether she's been there or not, but I really like the activity person. I think she's giving me the straight stuff, but I'm not there through the day to know what kind of activities there are. I have seen the menus, and I think they're making sure she is down there three times a day for meals. It's a real help. I've had limited experience, but it seems to me that it's that they're good.

Bickford of Worthington was an older facility and memory care was a separate building. The lady during the tour was very informative and good. The grounds and the landscaping weren't up to par though. It's convenient. It's on High Street which is the main drag to Columbus. It's not close to any hospital, but it is close to restaurants and so forth.

My dad is at Bickford of Worthington, and he's doing fine. The staff has been terrific, very responsive, attentive, and proactive, and they communicate well. We can't go in there right now because of COVID, but he has plenty of room in his apartment, it's clean, and they have plenty of activities.

My husband is at Bickford of Worthington. They said they could take care of him because his care was kind of extensive. A lot of the places I checked out would call back and say that with the care that he needed, they could not take him. I settled on Bickford for that reason. They assured me that they could take care of him and so they have. You cannot go inside of these places because of COVID, but I spoke with the manager and they seem to be taking care of him. My husband has turned around at least 50% since he's been there. When he went there, he couldn't talk other than a whisper. Now, I go see him and he can talk like he talked before, but his memory is not back and he still cannot walk. Bickford is doing what I would have expected a facility would do.
I could only see the outside and the lobby. I can't tell you about the inside because with COVID, you cannot get in. The staff is absolutely amazing and very helpful, and my husband seems to like them all. They recognized that he needed to go to the hospital, so they sent him to the hospital. The staff is doing what I would expect the staff would do. When he got there, the speech therapist said that he had problems swallowing. They discovered that when he was at the hospital, so they put him on a puree diet and he does not like that. We haven't seen the regular food yet. Once his swallowing gets better, I think they're gonna put him on a regular diet.
The outside is quite impressive. The day that I went to talk with the manager about it before, he took me around the back of the building and showed me the courtyard. I got to peek through a window, which is what they do now, and the part that I could see was nice. It was a nice big place and from the outside, it was not in tatters. It was well structured and when I looked through the window, I saw people milling about. The bedroom that he could show me through a window looked like an ordinary bedroom. It wasn't elaborate, but it was a nice room. He could only show me the one room from where I was. It didn't seem like anybody was living in it, otherwise, I don't think we'd peek through the window. I'm happy with the place, and they could take my husband.
I know my husband is having speech therapy and physical therapy. I don't know about the activities, but I'm sure they have them. They said they have things for the other residents to do, but we didn't delve into that. My husband doesn't partake because he's not able to. We think we're paying too much, but I guess he needs the care.

My mother moved into Bickford of Worthington. I'm very happy with the care that she's getting there. It seems to be very friendly, individualized care, I'm communicating with them, they're easy to get a hold of, and they seem really willing to cooperate with the family. I'm visiting there about two or three times a week. At first it was outside, and then had a room inside when the weather got bad. The staff is very nice, very helpful, very friendly, they always tell me what's going on with Mom, and tell me humorous things when interacting with her. She has a studio and I haven't been able to see it, but I did see it in a video once, and it seems a nice size. It seems to be adequate. They do crafts, they play games, they do her nails, they post them on their Facebook page, it's nice when I can find my mom, and on their website too, I think they post pictures. They do have a little courtyard in the back, it's fenced-in, and in the summer they have a big front porch that you can visit on when the weather is nice. She does physical therapy twice a week, they have someone that comes in, we had to get a doctor's order, but they have somebody there from some outside group.

I toured approximately 12 communities before deciding on Bickford/Mary Bs for memory care for my mother. The staff deserves more than 5 stars. They love what they do and they truly love their residents. You can drop in day or night and the staff is interacting with residents. They have singing, dancing and crafts appropriate for those with Alzheimer's Disease. The director, David, is very visible and available by phone or email. The nurses are awesome and if you have a question about your loved one you can call them at any time. My mother has been there 5.5 years and I would refer family and friends there.

Bickford of Worthington was very clean, nice and looks good. The dining area looked clean. The room I saw was a little bit musty. They had an activity room where they had crafts stuff, and an area where people were playing cards.
