The Canton Regency Senior Living Residences is a beautiful facility. It's well taken care of, very clean, very modern, very elaborate, and very upscale. As far as the rooms and the amenities, it's a lot like the other place we chose. They just didn't offer a lot of the extras that the other place offers, like the pub and so forth, but they have the same seating areas. The rooms were not shared. It's like a hotel room, which is a regular bedroom with a bathroom attached, and it's an average size. They have shelves in the closet, which I thought was a nice added feature. They have shadowboxes outside the door where we can put little figurines and decorate. The one room I looked at for Mama was upstairs. The memory care was upstairs. They have sensors, but the beds don't have sensors. The room is overlooking a parking lot, but there are trees, so she'd at least have a better view. They have different seating areas with the television and different areas for the families. The staff was very friendly. They're not as staffed as the other place though, and that's the only thing that concerned me.

When I walked into The Canton Regency Senior Living Residences, it felt like a nice place to stay, but when you go into memory care, it felt like a hospital and smelled like a nursing home very strongly. They did pretty well with their activities program, but I just don't think they quite understood exactly what we needed. It didn't seem like a good fit for us.
